We were always told do the basics well, but keep it simple for the next 10 minutes.

Preston, as expected, are full of confidence here.

It's not looking good for Burnley as things stand as Kaine Kesler-Hayden makes another good challenge to prevent the visitors getting away on the counter.

Well, Burnley haven't exactly come out swinging.

It's all Preston in the opening exchanges of the second half.

In case you missed it, here's that brilliant goal from Robbie Brady to open the scoring for Preston.

Preston captain Ben Whiteman, who is currently out with an ankle injury, speaking to BBC Sport: "I'm progressing really well and can't wait to get back out there with the lads.

"It was a nervy 30 minutes but then a moment of real quality from Robbie Brady to open up the game. I'm sure the lads are delighted so far. Robbie has a wand of a left foot, internationally he has played at the highest level as well."

On being 2-0 up against Burnley: "Obviously they are not used to conceding goals. From our point of view, they are goals of great quality."

On having the chance to reach the quarter-finals: "Massive opportunity, we would have taken this outcome at half-time. We have half a job complete and hopefully, we can finish it off in the second half."

Quite incredible.

Such a lull in the game for Millwall. They have not had a sniff for a while. All of a sudden, this happens.

Chris Richards gets too tight, and Daniel Munoz is in the wrong position.

He keeps his head down, Wes Harding, he doesn't panic and a big deflection from Ben Chilwell to take it into the net.

Crystal Palace will be furious with that. They were coasting but have now allowed the 10-men of Millwall back into this.

This is only the second time all season that Burnley have conceded two goals in a match across any competition.

The other was back in August last year, when the Clarets lost 2-0 to Wolves and went out of the EFL Cup.

Burnley have also now conceded more goals in the first half of this match than they have in the whole of 2025 so far.

The one big concern on an otherwise good day so far for Crystal Palace is Jean-Philippe Mateta's injury. Fingers crossed he is not seriously hurt after being taken out by Liam Roberts.

The Preston players have a spring in their step, they sprint down the tunnel as the half-time whistle blows.

The Burnley players, meanwhile, have their heads down and trudge off looking visibly disappointed.

Scott Parker finds his side in unfamiliar territory and has a big teamtalk to give at the interval.

Into nine minutes of additional time at the end of the first half at Selhurst Park. Another four to go.

Palace's wing-backs have been the key attacking driver in this game. Ben Chilwell and Daniel Munoz are causing havoc.

They're stretching Millwall across the whole pitch and it's made it difficult for them to make up the ground.

This is one of only two scheduled matches for Palace in March due to Newcastle being involved in the Carabao Cup final and the international break.

However, if they finish the job here they will have an FA Cup quarter-final to look forward on the weekend 29-30 March.

No complaints from Raees Bangura-Williams as the Millwall substitute is cautioned for bringing down Ben Chilwell in full flight.
