Having seen the awful challenge on Mateta, I have no idea why the referee had to check the monitor? Studs up at head height, and a player laying flat out on the turf, with a gash in his head according to Steve Parish's interview. How did that need a VAR check to issue a red card? If it was an earlier round with no VAR, what would've happened then?

Deserved for me in the end. A really entertaining FA Cup tie with a lot of drama and controversy.

It had to settle and recover. Eddie Nketiah did excellent for Jean-Philippe Mateta. Great win for Palace.

That confidence and run carries on.
