    Qarabag 0-0 Chelsea

A H-U-G-E chance for Chelsea to take the lead.

Andrey Santos will not want to see that again as the Brazilian side foots it wide from close range after a lovely cut-back by Tyrique George.

    It should be 1-0 Chelsea.

From Opta...Romeo Lavia after eight minutes is the earliest that a Chelsea starter has been subbed off in a Champions League game.

  3. Villarreal dominating as Mikautadze misses sitterpublished at 17:56 GMT 5 November

    Pafos 0-0 Villarreal

Villarreal have had the best of the opening exchanges in Cyprus and should really be in front.

Striker Georges Mikautadze has just done a complete air shot while trying to volley home unmarked inside the six yard box. Not one he or his manager will want to see again.

What an introduction that would have been for Moises Caicedo. He ran right into the D just to pick up that position! Caicedo is in a good bit of form.

    Qarabag 0-0 Chelsea

A Chelsea corner is only half cleared to Moises Caicedo who is about 20 yards out and he lashes it first time towards the goal.

It flies just over the bar. Not a bad touch by the substitute.

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia is coming off injured having gone down just five minutes into the match.

It looked as though the 21-year-old did something to his knee and star midfielder Moises Caicedo will not get a rest tonight and has replaced him.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 7 mins

    Qarabag 0-0 Chelsea

Moises Caicedo is going to come on for Romeo Lavia.

Enzo Maresca's plan are already out of the window.

Losing Lavia so early is such a blow.

Romeo Lavia will be so frustrated.

He's been given an opportunity to come into the team and show what he can do.

    Oh no!

Romeo Lavia has pulled up and is on the ground receiving treatment.

    This does not look great.

Lots of huff and puff from both sets of players in the opening exchanges. The game is yet to settle and play has already been stopped for two or three free-kicks.

    Qarabag 0-0 Chelsea

The backdrop to this match will be loud booing and whistles from the Qarabag fans, who understand the assignment.

Those watching Liverpool lose at Galatasaray a few weeks ago will have heard similar.

There is no doubt the fans will try to drive their team on and make this hostile for a strong favourite in Chelsea, who will likely also hoard the majority of the possession.

At the start of the season everything was geared around Cole Palmer.

Another game kicking off early tonight is Pafos against Villarreal.

The league phase debutants have made a solid start to life at Europe's top table with two hard fought draws either side of a 5-1 defeat to German giants Bayern Munich, leaving them in touching distance of the play-offs.

With Monaco, Juventus, Chelsea and Slavia Prague to come, tonight's visit of Villarreal holds even more importance in their bid to place inside the top 24.

However it won't be easy against a resurgent Villarreal side who have won their last three in all competitions and will have their own play-off aims.
