A Chris Kane hat-trick gave Dunfermline Athletic all three points in the Fife derby against Scottish Championship opponents Raith Rovers in front of 6,812 spectators at East End Park.

Rovers took the lead just before half-time through Dylan Easton's penalty, awarded after he had been fouled by Tom Fogarty.

Referee Grant Irvine had to pause the restart to retrieve a missile hurled on to the pitch.

Kane scored an early second-half spot-kick equaliser - following Paul Hanlon's handball - before deflecting a Kieran Ngwenya shot into the net off his body, a goal the striker knew little about it.

And he scored another penalty for his treble after drawing a foul by Kevin Dabrowski.

The Pars leapfrog Hamilton Academical into eighth place in the table, with Rovers five points and one place ahead of them.
