The corner comes in from the right and centre half Luana Bühler nods it back towards goal. It appeared to be drifting over the bar but Courtney Brosnan was in no mood to gamble and helps it on its way over the top.

    Everton 2-0 Tottenham

There's been some dangerous passing out from the back from both sides in this opening 25 minutes.

Everton capitalise on a loose pass from Spurs stopper Becky Spencer but her defenders close ranks to push the home side back towards their own half once more.

Another long searching pass forward from Justine Vanhaevermaet, who has been stepping up into her usual midfield role from the back line.

Plenty of noise from the home fans who are rightly delighted with the start their side have made in this game.

As it stands they're heading for just a second home win in the WSL all season, having won just one of their previous 10 at Walton Hall Park (D3 L6).

    Everton 2-0 Tottenham

    Chance for Spurs.

Jess Naz picks out Ashleigh Neville in the box who then makes space for a shot with a wonderful Cruyff turn.

She opts to lay the ball off instead, passing to Grace Clinton who shoots first time, stinging the palms of Courtney Brosnan from range.

    Everton 2-0 Tottenham

    Laura Bassett
Former England international on Sky Sports

It's absolutely brilliant. I thought the initial ball wasn't fantastic, it didn't have too much pace on. But Everton keep it alive, it comes out and it's just about being in the right place at the right time. Vanhaevermaet in the end gets that perfect touch to knock it in. Everton 2-0 up early in this game and it's a positive start from them.

    Everton 2-0 Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have now conceded 15 first-half goals in 20 WSL games this season with only Bristol City (28) and West Ham United (19) having conceded more.

Plenty to ponder for Robert Vilahamn.

    Justine Vanhaevermaet (15 mins)

    It's two for the Toffees!

The corner is nodded down at the back post by Sara Holmgaard and once again Tottenham fail to clear their lines.

The ball pings around the box before Justine Vanhaevermaet gets a decisive toe poke on it to send it inside the bottom far corner.

What a start from the hosts!

    Everton 1-0 Tottenham

Well it's fair to say that given how the game has started that Everton opener very much came against the run of play.

Boss Brian Sorensen will be pleased that the side have found their goalscoring touch early after missing so many chances in first half against Arsenal last week.

It's a brilliant strike, in my opinion completely against the run of play. That doesn't matter. Spurs will be disappointed because they get done in transition. But take nothing away from this strike, it's arrowed across into the side netting with pace and power.

GOAL - Everton 1-0 Tottenhampublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 4 May

    Sara Holmgaard (10 mins)

Deadlock broken and the goal comes from the hosts.

Lucy Hope sends a cross into the box from the right and Spurs fail to deal with it, the ball drops to the edge of the box and Everton work it out to Sara Holmgaard on the left.

The full-back takes a touch toc clear her feet and fires the ball across goal and into the top right hand corner.

A clinical start from the hosts.

Confusion in the Tottenham defence as a long ball is left by both centre halves and Katja Snoejis looks to be in on goal.

Ashleigh Neville is on hand to bail out her teammates and clear the danger before a shot can be taken.

  19. CLOSE!published at 12:07 British Summer Time 4 May

    Everton 0-0 Tottenham

    Another opportunity for Spurs.

Evaliina Summanen and Matilda Vinberg execute a neat one two on the edge of the box before Vinberg sidesteps and challenge and shoots at goal.

Once again it is an easy catch for Courtney Brosnan but promising signs for the visitors.

First attack of the game and it comes from the visitors.

Spence shoots on the angle but Courtney Brosnan gathers easily.
