Crewe Alexandra's promotion charge has stuttered of late and they go to Morecambe looking for a first win in six outings.

Play-off chasers Walsall have a tough task at Doncaster Rovers, who are on a six-game winning streak.

Grimsby Town go to Harrogate Town with a five-point cushion to the relegation places, although they have played one more game than second-bottom Colchester.

Newport County will look to end a four-match losing run as they face Accrington Stanley.

Barrow were scheduled to face Bradford City but that game was postponed earlier today because of a waterlogged pitch.

  3. Rovers seek to heap more woe on Stagspublished at 19:39 9 April

Mansfield v Forest Green (19:45 BST)

Until three weeks ago, this match looked highly likely to be a meeting of sides who would go on to finish top and bottom.

Tonight though, it could yet be a game between a team who finish outside the automatic promotion places and another who avoid relegation to the National League.

Over their past 10 games, these sides have identical records with four wins, a draw and five defeats and are firmly in the middle of the pack in the League Two form table.

Mansfield are still only a point outside the top three but have taken four points from their past four home games, drawing with lowly Colchester and then getting thumped 4-1 by Crawley in their most recent two.

Rovers have won two of their past three on the road and are seeking to close a three-point gap to third-bottom Sutton in this, their game in hand.

  4. Burning ambitions remain as Red Devils visit Red Dragonspublished at 19:36 9 April

    Wrexham v Crawley (19:45 BST)

Wrexham have established themselves as the side best-placed to challenge Stockport for the League Two title but go into tonight's games four points adrift of the Hatters, having played a game more, and with a worse goal difference.

Phil Parkinson's side have a far better chance of making it back-to-back promotions, however, and a win tonight would take them five points ahead of MK Dons with just three games remaining in the race for the top three.

Crawley are the current occupiers of the hot potato which has been the final play-off spot over recent weeks, but Town have taken only eight points from their past 28 away games against newly-promoted sides, winning only one of them.

They might need to improve that return tonight as they lie seventh but only three points ahead of Walsall, though their other main rivals AFC Wimbledon, Morecambe and Gillingham have all played at least one more game.

  5. Stockport bid to secure promotionpublished at 19:33 9 April

    Colchester v Stockport (19:45 BST)

It's been 317 long days since Stockport suffered the anguish of losing the League Two play-off final on penalties to Carlisle at Wembley.

Tonight, the Hatters could seal automatic promotion to League One, and in doing so could dent their hosts' chances of remaining in the EFL.

The leaders will need a little help to secure a top-three finish tonight, as not only do they need to beat Colchester, but they also require Forest Green to inflict a third straight defeat on Mansfield. The Stags visit MK Dons on Saturday, meaning in that event, those sides could no longer both catch Stockport.

A win would almost confirm it regardless of results elsewhere - it would need an extraordinary sequence of results and swing in goal difference to deny them automatic promotion in that eventuality.

County are unbeaten in nine and seeking a fifth straight win, having scored 12 and conceded just once in their past four matches.

Second-bottom Colchester have one win in 11 and though this is the first of three games in hand in which to close a one-point gap to Sutton and safety, they are all against sides battling for the title, the play-offs or survival.

Leyton Orient need a minor miracle if they're to reach the play-offs now. They're nine points off with four games to play, and host Exeter City this evening.

Reading are six points above the drop zone and they go to Bristol Rovers, who have only picked up two points from the past 18 available.

Charlton are aiming to go 12 games unbeaten - they play Wigan in a mid-table battle of the Athletics.

  7. No room for error for Clarke's Cheltenhampublished at 19:27 9 April

    Cheltenham v Carlisle (19:45 BST)

Darrell Clarke, Cheltenham manager, looks on from the touchlineImage source, Rex Features

Cheltenham have a golden opportunity to use their game in hand to climb out of League One's drop zone when they host already-relegated Carlisle tonight.

The Robins are two points off 20th-placed Port Vale, who themselves moved out of the bottom four last weekend.

Darrell Clarke's side haven't won any of their past three home games, but prior to that they took victory in four out of six matches at home, which is form they will need to rediscover as there is little room for error in their bid to stay in the division.

That may understandably lead to a few nerves tonight, but Cheltenham will also be aware of Carlisle's dire away record.

They have picked up 12 out of a possible 63 points on the road this season.

  8. Different battles for teams in Fylde Coast derbypublished at 19:24 9 April

    Blackpool v Fleetwood (19:45 BST)

Sonny Carey in action for BlackpoolImage source, Rex Features

Blackpool will go into tonight's home game against Fleetwood in high spirits, knowing that they are unbeaten in their past 10 league games at Bloomfield Road, a run that stretches back to November.

Neil Critchley's side have only ever lost one of the 11 league games they have played against neighbours Fleetwood.

Any points the Seasiders drop tonight could prove costly, as they are six points off the final play-off spot held by Oxford United with just four games to go.

The same number of points separates 23rd-placed Fleetwood and a position of safety.

With just a 10-mile journey between these two, Charlie Adam's team don't have far to travel, though it's worth noting that they haven't won away from home in more than two months.

  9. Tykes make first ever trip to Stevenagepublished at 19:21 9 April

    Stevenage v Barnsley (19:45 BST)

Barnsley visit Stevenage for the first time ever tonight, with their hopes of automatic promotion from League One now looking very slim and reliant on other teams dropping points.

The Tykes' main focus will surely now be to finish the season with momentum and see what happens after their final five games.

But there is an onus on Stevenage - who are currently six points off the play-off spots - to push for a result as they try to catch the teams ahead of them with just four left to play.

However, the recent problem for Steve Evans' side has been scoring goals. Four of their past eight games have been 0-0 draws.
