Hull and Plymouth last faced in the 2020-21 campaign in League One, with the Tigers winning both games that campaign as they won promotion to the Championship.
In the Championship, this is the first meeting between Hull and Plymouth since February 2008 – the Tigers won 1-0 with a goal from Dean Windass.
Hull have only lost two of their 17 home league games under Liam Rosenior (W6 D9), including none of their last eight (W3 D5).
Plymouth are yet to win an away league game this season (D1 L3), and could lose four such games in a row for the first time since March 2021 in League One, and for the first time in the Championship since January 2009.
Aaron Connolly netted his fifth league goal of the season against Stoke last time out, already one more goal than his previous 24 Championship appearances (4). This season he’s averaging a goal every 80 minutes, compared to a goal every 382 minutes in his previous two seasons combined.
