Chelsea are finding it a little bit easier to find the space and pick the pockets.

The Aston Villa players are just switching off a little bit, especially when it comes into the middle third.

Chelsea have another corner, this time it's played short then curled in by Catarina Macario but Niamh Charles gets the header all wrong at the back post and heads it backwards rather than towards the target.

Leanne Kiernan's well-worked opener means Liverpool have the advantage at half time.

It's all square at the break after a lively first 45 minutes that featured two high-quality goals, plenty of goalmouth action and some tough tackling that has seen two Everton players go into the book.

When teams do get the chance to put it away against Chelsea they don't seem to capitalise. We saw it against Arsenal.

Villa can't afford to do that today. If you're going to get chances, you have to try and punish Chelsea.

Nathalie Bjorn picks out Wieke Kaptein in the penalty box and the Dutch midfielder shifts it across for Lauren James, who gets off a brilliant low strike but Lucy Parker makes a crucial block to turn it behind for a corner.

Brighton lead at the break thanks to Crystal Palace's howler of an own goal.

Milla-Maj Majasaari makes amends for her foul with a great save from the free-kick, leaping to the right to push the effort around the post.

Close! Leane Kiernan connects with delivery from a corner, rising highest in a crowd of bodies around the six-yard box, but she nods just wide of the far post.

Five minutes added at the end of the first half here.

This is a good chance for Brighton.

Nikita Parris is brought down by Milla-Maj Majasaari right on the edge of the box and they now have a free kick.

The goalkeeper is booked for her foul.

Good spell for Villa, this.

This is probably the most that I have seen Villa comfortable in possession and not rushing it.

Hannah Hampton is a bit too casual playing it out from the back and the ball falls to Gabi Nunes, who tries to chip the former Villa keeper but it's not high enough and Hampton leaps to catch it.

Ooooh. Crystal Palace earn a corner but for a moment it looked like it could have been more.

Katie Stengel strikes from the edge of the area but her effort takes a deflection and goes just wide of the Brighton goal.

Aston Villa win a corner as Naimh Charles makes a block but it comes to nothing.

It's been a little bit scrappy so far with neither team really getting hold of the ball or creating chances.

We are back under way in this one, with Olivia Smith and Oona Siren back on the pitch.

Leicester goalscorer Shannon O'Brien is in the wars, taking a hefty challenge from Hayley Ladds which sees the Everton player become the second Toffee to be shown the yellow card.

That was good play from Gabi Nunes to spot that Chelsea were getting a little bit closer.

We've seen it in today's game, against Arsenal, Man City, in previous weeks. You overplay and then you're going to give something to Chelsea.

Well done Lucy Parker.

Aston Villa lose the ball on the halfway line and Lauren James drives forward through the middle but Parker does really well to get her body across and prevent the England forward getting any further up the pitch.
