France, Germany, England & Portugal are my forerunners to win the Euros. Outside chance for both Spain & Netherlands. For the neutral, France vs Portugal (aka Mbappe facing his boyhood hero Ronaldo in the final) would be some spectacle. I personally think if England beat France in the Semis, England will win the Euros.

Jude Bellingham arrived in England camp on Sunday, posting on social media he has "Euros fever".

The 20-year-old is one of England's bright stars, having just won the Champions League in his first season with Real Madrid. He won Young Champions League Player of the Season and La Liga Player of the Season to underpin his credentials.

However, England manager Gareth Southgate has said the team are not relying on Bellingham for 'everything'.

"I'm sure he is [capable of handling the pressure] but we are not putting everything on Jude. We've got a lot of good players and it is a collective thing to go and try to win this tournament.

"He is, of course, a player with a fabulous mentality and will have a big impact on the whole group."

  3. Iceland loss 'not ideal'published at 08:37 British Summer Time 10 June

England midfielder Declan Rice says between the team's 1-0 loss to Iceland and their Euro opener against Serbia on Sunday "there is work to be done".

Gareth Southgate's team had chances to equalise at Wembley but didn't take them in a disappointing loss.

"When we have that much of the ball, we have a couple of clear-cut chances and get beat 1-0 at home just before a Euros, it's not ideal.

"But there were a lot of positive performances. In the end it becomes a frustration game, you're chasing your tail a little bit and get caught on the counter-attack.

"Inside I'm hurting and between now and the next game there's work to be done."

England manager Gareth Southgate admitted the team's performance against Iceland was 'disappointing'.

The team were booed off at Wembley after losing 1-0.

"It was obviously a disjointed and disappointing performance and we didn't show enough character, but I think it's good for us before an international tournament," Southgate told Channel 4.

"We've got to be better without the ball. I think there were a lot of reasons for that and across the two games we probably haven't had our full side out. We've been able to look at people, we've been able to learn about the balance of the team.

"I've been involved in a lot of last matches leading into a tournament. Inevitably players have one eye on what's coming in terms of early challenges. No excuses on the result but there are a lot of things we can put right quickly."

England defender John Stones was taken off during their 1-0 loss to Iceland but manager Gareth Southgate says it was just a precaution.

Stones has been battling with injuries this past season but is now fit to be a part of England's Euro campaign.

Southgate told BBC Radio 5 Live: He took a bit of a knock to the ankle really early in the game, but at half-time there was no point taking any chance," the England boss continued.

"We're too close to the start of the tournament, there's no point risking it."

England's friendly results heading into the Euros have been underwhelming with one win from four games.

Gareth Southgate's team lost 1-0 to Brazil back in March and drew 2-2 against Belgium three days later.

The team then beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 3-0 on 3 June but lost 1-0 to Iceland last Friday. Kane does admit England need to boost their performances.

"I think there are some things we have to improve, for sure," he added.

"It was one of those games. On another day we had three or four clear-cut chances - myself, Cole, Ant had a good chance - so we could have walked off at 3-1 or 4-1 and we would all be going into the Euros very happy."

Captain Harry Kane says England's 1-0 defeat against Iceland at Wembley on Friday "could be a nice wake-up call" before Euro 2024.

England are one of the tournament favourites but were booed off after a poor display in the final warm-up game.

Kane, who scored 36 Bundesliga goals in his debut season at Bayern Munich, said there was a lot to improve on before the Euros start in Germany on Friday.

"Of course there will be some noise about it [losing to Iceland] but I think there is a lot of optimism from the fans and rightly so," added the 30-year-old. "Ultimately it is down to us to make sure we get it right on the pitch.

"This could be a nice wake-up call for everyone to realise it is not going to be as easy as people think. There is a lot of work to do."
