Get Fernandes off the pitch now, alongside Amad and Casemiro - they’ve all been awful all season. Stop pandering to ‘names’ and start playing people who are in form!

    Anon

Time and time again, one pass through the middle of the pitch breaks the Utd press and teams are through on our defence. It defies belief that Ten Hag hasn’t changed the system which is clearly not working. Time to go!

    Fiorentina 0-0 The New Saints

Fiorentina send on the big guns, with Dodo, Albert Gudmundsson and former Everton striker Moise Kean all introduced.

What a compliment to TNS. Approaching the hour mark and they are still level.

Erik ten Hag is unmoved as Porto complete the comeback and score their third – Samu’s second of the night.

Manchester United continue to attack and create openings but their positioning and defending is all over the place.

Discipline looks to be slipping too… Bruno Fernandes, sent off at the weekend and on a booking here, just chased the referee to argue his case. In the Premier League he could well have received a second yellow. The game and the manager feel on the brin.

This has been a chaotic but utterly compelling watch.

    6:40: 0-1

    26:56: 1-2

    33:07: 2-2

    49:17: 3-2

And still there's another 30+ minutes to go.

Rayan Cherki's clever feet in the box bamboozle Connor Barron.

He then fires a low cross and Malick Fofana is at the back post to poke it home.

A fantastic away performance from Lyon so far.

    Chelsea 2-1 Gent

Chelsea on the attack but a couple of passes and balls just fail to reach their target.

    Porto 3-2 Man Utd

Manchester United have fallen apart yet, remarkably, they could still win this. This is so O-P-E-N.

  11. Lively in the stands as Chelsea fail to kill this gamepublished at 21:16 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 2-1 Gent

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Chelsea should have had this game in the bag based on the play but their defending has been sloppy for the majority of this match.

Defender Tsuyoshi Watanabe produced a far post header to equalise as Benoit Badiashile struggles at the back in an audition from Chelsea's second string for future involvement in Premier League matches.

The Gent supporters were in delight after the goal and all switched their camera phone lights on in unison and danced in the stands.

Of course, Chelsea supporters were unimpressed with the elaborate display of support but I won't repeat the chant with younger viewers watching.

What is going through Erik ten Hag's mind?

    He cannot afford another defeat.

You cannot go from 2-0 up to 3-2 down if you are Manchester United.

    Lucy Ward

A shot in the arm for Gent but just sloppy from Chelsea.

They shouldn't be giving any encouragement whatsoever.

It certainly makes it lively for the neutral.

    Rangers 1-3 Lyon

Corentin Tolisso is edged off the ball on the edge of the box before he can get a shot away.

More great work from Malick Fofana down the flanks to create the opportunity.

  17. 'Samu smashes it into the roof of the net'published at 21:13 British Summer Time

    Porto 3-2 Man Utd

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

That has gone from back to front in two passes. It is cut back to Samu and he smashes it into the roof of the net - Andre Onana has no chance!

For a striker so young there's no wonder Atletico Madrid sold him with a sell-on clause.

  18. Postpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 2-1 Gent

Just like the Spurs game earlier where the Premier League team go 2-0 up and you think relax now - but the opposition pull one back to make it tense again.

If you are ever lucky enough to visit Florence, you can visit Michelangelo’s statue of David.

So far, Craig Harrison is producing his own masterpiece in Tuscany.

Fiorentina still can't find a way through as Danny Davies produces a superb block to deny Christian Kouame.
