    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

    Joe Jacobson
Former Wycombe Wanderers captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wycombe are growing into the game and the high line they have got, when Villa have got the ball and trying to pass the ball through, it is so compact. Every time there is a turnover, Lubala is looking down the sides.

It's been really positive so far.

Oooh. Chance there for David Wheeler. A decent ball comes in from the free-kick but Wheeler just mis-times his effort at the far post and can't quite make a decent enough connection with it.

Many of the Chelsea players tonight are rusty and in need of minutes. Cup matches are a great chance for them to establish themselves into the first team.

    Walsall 0-0 Leicester City

Is this going to be our shock of the night? League Two Walsall halfway to taking Leicester City of the Premier League to penalties.

  5. 'Wycombe have been outstanding'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wycombe have been outstanding and I look at Aston Villa's bench and I'm thinking if this doesn't quite go to plan, I'm not sure who is going to be able to come off the bench and save them.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 24 September

    Chelsea 3-0 Barrow

Two goals from Christopher Nkunku inside the opening 15 minutes plus Joao Felix's free-kick which bounced off Paul Farman for an own goal have killed this as a contest.

Barrow's only hope is that they don't get embarrassed in the second half.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 2-0 Watford

That was the last action of the half. Goals from Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes put Manchester City in control at the break.

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:32 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

    What an opportunity!

Into the final minute of the half and Yasser Larouci absolutely puts it on a platter for Vakoun Issouf Bayo but the forward's header is wide.

Huge chance and he should've scored.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 24 September

    Chelsea 3-0 Barrow

Joao Felix, who has played a part in all three of Chelsea's goals, thinks he is through on goal, but has leaned in to use his arm to nudge the ball past the last defender. The referee says it was deliberate handball and Felix gets shown a yellow card.

  10. Postpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 2-0 Watford

Jeremy Doku has been a serious threat in this first half. His quick feet have got him in some really good positions but the final pass or shot has just been a bit lacking at times. Apart from his earlier goal, of course.

    Man City 2-0 Watford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

I was just about to write Watford were doing quite well when Manchester City hit them with their second goal.

    That is the problem.

You might think you are doing OK and have some control of the game. You might even be encouraged to launch an attacking foray or two.

But City have so many players who can create something in the blink of an eye.

Matheus Nunes has not had many chances to impress as a City player.

But he was outstanding at Wolves and Pep Guardiola spent £53m on him just over a year ago. If you give him space he will put the ball exactly where he wants - and that was right in the bottom corner.

    Duran looks lively.

He is always an option and looks like he wants to add to that tally.

  13. Postpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

Jhon Duran bursts into the area at pace but he's almost shifting too quickly and his shot from close to the byline is too tight an angle.

Cries of "wheyyy" from the home supporters as it goes well over the bar.

  14. goal

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Watfordpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 24 September

    Matheus Nunes (38 mins)

    Lovely play from Manchester City.

Rico Lewis picks up the ball on the edge of the area and finds Matheus Nunes. It looked like Watford had done enough to put him under pressure but it's a lovely finish from the Portuguese midfielder, passed into the net at pace.

That's his first goal for the club.

    Walsall 0-0 Leicester City

Leicester have had a lot of the ball, but not done too much with it yet. A long throw from Harry Williams, aiming for Charlie Lakin at the back post, causes the Premier League side problems, but away keeper Danny Ward does enough to ensure it is still goalless.

Chelsea taking no prisoners with that line-up. Maybe throw on a few youngsters to show Barrow some mercy.

BBC Sport at Poundland Bescot Stadium

As visiting fans often do wherever they go, the vocal Leicester contingent playfully comparing the Poundland Bescot Stadium to a garden shed and/or library.

But right now, on the pitch at least, the shed is locked and the books bound shut.

The Premier League side look neat and tidy, piecing together some nice one-touch stuff - but without end product. Yet.

    Man City 1-0 Watford

Phil Foden takes the free-kick but it's blocked by the Watford wall. The visitors have been in this game so far. They do shift with pace on the break.

  19. Postpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 1-0 Watford

Manchester City win a free-kick in a very dangerous area. Slightly right of centre 20-yards out.

Jack Grealish and Phil Foden stand over it.

Bill@7.28: I don't think ditching the entire competition is realistic, however maybe it's time to remove PL teams from it. Replace European qualification with a big financial prize and have Championship, League One & League Two teams compete for it. Maybe even add in the National League for a bit of spice!
