  1. Braithwaite's big chancepublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 1-0 Watford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Yesterday morning Kaden Braithwaite had never even trained with the Manchester City first-team.

But he was drafted in as Pep Guardiola looked at how to manage his squad mid such a packed schedule, impressed City's coaches and sporting director Txiki Begiristain and now he starts.

Can you imagine how his family are feeling just now as he lines up alongside Phil Foden and Jack Grealish?

I'm a Chelsea fan and even I'm embarrassed seeing us field £200m worth of attackers today.. no one can claim we're not taking the competition seriously I guess.

    Man City 1-0 Watford

Watford give the ball away in their own half but Matheus Nunes' cross is headed away. It drops for Jeremy Doku but his snatched effort is a simple catch for Watford keeper Jonathan Bond.

  4. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 3-0 Barrowpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 24 September

Paul Farman own goal (29 mins)

Chelsea cruising into the last 16. They get a free-kick 25 yards out and there is loads of jostling in the wall between Barrow's Kian Spence and Chelsea's Pedro Neto.

But it does not matter as Joao Felix whips the free-kick over the wall. At first look, it appeared the ball went straight in, but it actually clipped the post, then hit goalkeeper Paul Farman and then in it went.

It goes down as a Farman own goal and he has already conceded three with an hour to go.

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

Good chance for Wycombe. Beryly Lubala chests it down, turns and tries one on the half volley from 10-yards out but Villa goalkeeper Joe Gauci catches to keep us all square at Adams Park.

  6. Studious Cleverleypublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 1-0 Watford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Watford manager Tom Cleverley is looking quite studious in his technical area, with his arms folded and a hand to his mouth in thought.

It must be a bit intimidating to be stood so close to one of the greatest managers ever at such a formative stage of his own career.

  7. 'Bloomfield has set Wycombe up to win this game'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You have got to give credit to Wycombe with their pressing and their confidence.

I like the way Matt Bloomfield has set them up. He has set them up to win this game. They're at home and they are going to ask questions of Aston Villa.

  8. Nkunku's finishing could make this ugly for Barrowpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 24 September

    Chelsea 2-0 Barrow

    Nizaar Kinsella
BBC Sport football news reporter at Stamford Bridge

Christopher Nkunku is arguably Chelsea's best finisher in a very competitive and talented squad.

The Frenchman is showing that at Stamford Bridge by scoring twice within the first 15 minutes.

He has now scored five goals this season in all competition and was already averaging a goal in less than every 90 minutes before kick off.

Often called "stat padding" in social media parlance, Nkunku is staking his claim to start again in the Premier League after only gaining minutes from the bench in the last four games, albeit by scoring twice against a team 63 places below Chelsea in the football pyramid.

Barrow head coach Stephen Clemence, meanwhile, is encouraging his team to continue some of their good play as they concede two goals from just two shots on goal.

  9. DISALLOWED GOAL - WATFORDpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 1-0 Watford

    Oooooh. This could be contentious.

Kwadwo Baah has the ball tucked into the bottom corner for Watford but it won't stand as he's penalised for a foul on Kaden Braithwaite.

It looks like the German forward just shoulder barged the 16-year-old.

No VAR at this stage of the Carabao Cup.

  10. 'Best chance of opening 20 minutes'published at 20:05 British Summer Time 24 September

    Walsall 0-0 Leicester City

    Michael Beardmore
BBC Sport at Poundland Bescot Stadium

What a chance that was for Walsall to really put the cat among the pigeons. Best chance of the opening 20 minutes.

Nathan Lowe's teasing low cross found Charlie Lakin in acres of space in the Leicester area and how he'll want that one over again.

Decent save by Danny Ward, mind - the keeper one of 10 changes made by the Foxes tonight, remember.

The League Two hosts are growing in confidence.

  11. Postpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 24 September

    Walsall 0-0 Leicester City

A good counter-attacking move from Walsall down their right-hand side involving Connor Barrett, Ronan Maher and Nathan Lowe, who crossed into the box but Charlie Lakin's first-time shot was saved by Danny Ward.

  12. 'A sitter' for Duranpublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You would have fancied Duran there. He tries to whip his left foot around it and doesn't quite do it.

It's a sitter and I'm sure he will get another chance.

  13. Postpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

Immediately a chance for Jhon Duran to get on the score sheet on a rare appearance in the starting line-up.

The pass from Leon Bailey is perfectly weighted to Duran between the two centre halves but the in-form striker pokes his effort wide.

Miss the days when lower league teams stuck a big number 9 up front and lumped it to him when they could to make it a physical battle. Now PL teams can just wait and pick them off easily when they play out from the back.

  15. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 2-0 Barrowpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 24 September

    Christopher Nkunku (15 mins)

Game over after only 15 minutes? A fine goal for the hosts and again it comes from Christopher Nkunku.

Joao Felix provides a backheel to release Malo Gusto down the Chelsea right and his low cross is excellently flicked in at the near post by Nkunku.

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 24 September

    Wycombe 0-0 Aston Villa

And we're under way in our fourth and final match in Wycombe.

  17. 'A matter of time' for Leicesterpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 24 September

    Walsall 0-0 Leicester City

    Curtis Davies
Former Premier League defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Leicester are moving the ball very quick and well but they are facing a wall of Walsall Red.

It's just a matter of time before they get on the end of one of their crosses.

  18. Bad omen for Watfordpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 1-0 Watford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Watford have lost 15 successive games against Manchester City.

The last five were by a combined score of 26-2, which includes the 2019 FA Cup final. In three of those games City scored within the first five minutes.

This could be long night for the visitors.

Why the hell are Watford playing out from the back away at Man City?

    James

    Indeed, James.

  20. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 24 September

    Man City 1-0 Watford

As expected it's a dominant start from the home side. Jeremy Doku is in good space on the right-hand side and tries a square ball across the box and it's a scramble for Ryan Porteous to clear away.

There's almost a carbon copy of that pass moments later but James McAtee can't get on the end of it.
