Andy: It's the last chance to play my Assistant Manager. Who would you choose?

Andy, you've perhaps been a tad unlucky that there are very few good-looking bonus fixture opportunities for you to chase.

In fact, this week only the three newly-promoted teams come with the 10-point winning bonus of beating a team five or more places above them in the league - and I don’t fancy any of them to cause an upset.

Pep Guardiola offers a good three-game run for wins and, of course, each goal is rewarded with an additional point and City could score plenty.

Brentford have a good run too, if you want to back Thomas Frank.

  2. I would play a high risk, high reward approach'published at 16:12 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice

It’s wildcard time for me this week. Any tips/hidden gems?

I would play with a fairly high risk, high reward approach of stacking up on a couple of teams you’re backing to win games and score lots of goals. Triple Man City (Gvardiol, De Bruyne and one of Haaland/Marmoush) and triple Brentford (Mbeumo, Wissa and Schade or a defender). Aston Villa are chasing a top five finish and Watkins, who perhaps feels like he has a point to prove could be a fun captaincy option next week against Spurs.

    Yankuba Minteh, Brighton, £4.8m - Wolves (a)

A bit of a flyer but Minteh is a fine FPL pick when he gets minutes on the pitch.

The Gambian has started four of the past five games for Brighton and his 5.38 points per 90 minutes is the highest of any Seagulls midfielder this season.

Brighton are another team chasing European qualification, so it makes sense to target their assets.

  4. 'Salah is a minutes monster and will still be hungry'published at 16:07 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Andy:Thinking of going rogue and selling Salah. Liverpool are winding down now. Surely switching the cash out to get KDB and Haaland is the way forward?

I hear you Andy and it’s not the worst idea in the world but just know it’s very unlikely both De Bruyne and Haaland will get three starts for the run in. Don’t forget the FA Cup Final will now be a priority for them and their Gameweek 37 fixture against Bournemouth comes only three days after their Wembley final. Salah meanwhile is a minutes monster and will still be hungry to hit his individual targets and will be chasing down goals and assists in the same way he has all season and for this reason I have no plans to sell the Egyptian.

  5. 'I like the idea of saving the Triple Captain to the final day'published at 16:04 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Paul: Hi Gianni. I need to make my triple captain count, what are my options? I don't trust Chris Wood at the moment, as his fixture is good but not his form. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Paul. I like the idea of saving the Triple Captain to the final day, if you can. Bukayo Saka against Southampton and Mohamed Salah against Crystal Palace for the trophy lift at Anfield both offer a huge upside.

If you want to play it this week, Bryan Mbeumo is perhaps the safest bet with a great record against the newly-promoted teams - he is a flat track bully.

  6. Poll: Who is your captain in gameweek 36?published at 16:02 British Summer Time 9 May

In case you haven't already seen, we have a poll running at the top of this live page.

Who is your captain in gameweek 36?

If you're in the 'other' camp, we'd love to hear who it is you're going with and why - unless you're keeping your cards close to your chest, that is!

  7. 'Both are fantastic options'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Mbeumo or Wissa for captain - which one do I go for?

Both are fantastic options and Brentford have an unbelievable record against the newly promoted teams this season. The eye test and recent form suggest Wissa but whilst the data flatters both, its Mbeumo who comes out on top. Wissa has 5 goals, 5 assists and averages 9 FPL points a game whilst Mbeumo has 7 goals, 2 assists and averages over 12 FPL points a game.

You want to use your precious remaining transfers on teams with something to play for - those chasing European spots.

So this week's team of the week is heavy on Manchester City and Nottingham Forest - two clubs with a top-five spot, and Champions League football, in their sights.

And there's a massive gamble at captain - Erling Haaland - who isn't guaranteed a start this weekend.

You can read the full team of the week article on the BBC Sport website.

  9. 'A start isn't 100% guaranteed for Kevin De Bruyne'published at 15:55 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Jon: Is Murphy to KDB on a free transfer still worth it with the Haaland news? I already have Mbuemo, Elanga, Rogers & Salah in midfield.

Hi Jon, Murphy has been a really frustrating own in the last couple of weeks and is consistently being subbed off before Barnes. When I saw his 55th minute substitution last week I committed to selling him and will likely replace him with Elanga. I am very happy owning De Bruyne and could captain him this week but as ever with Pep Guardiola there is a risk and a start isn’t 100% certain for the Belgian. If Haaland does start you could argue there is one fewer attacking spots for De Bruyne but if you have the money in the bank to make the upgrade I would take the gamble.

The trophy for the winner of the BBC Sport league, external is quite something to behold, paid for out of Chris Sutton’s own pocket.

It looks like it’s heading Max Littleproud’s way as he has a 42-point lead at the top with an overall score of 2,580 points which currently makes him the third best FPL manager in the world.

Last season’s winner Geraint Owen was our highest-ranked winner to date finishing 21st in the overall rankings last season so that’s another accolade for Max to chase.

    FPL Q&A with Gianni Buttice

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Will Erling Haaland start this gameweek?

Pep Guardiola has said he’s ready but it’s hard to know if we will get 60 or 30 minutes from City’s main man who will want some minutes under his belt before the FA Cup Final.

Buying Haaland isn’t easy and will require major surgery for most which puts me off, together with the fact that if he does start against Southampton, he’s showing us he is ready to start the FA Cup Final and if he does then he is surely a major doubt to start his Gameweek 37 fixture against Bournemouth three days later.

    Alex Iwobi, Fulham, £5.6m - Everton (h)

Iwobi has been on fire in the past five gameweeks with 30 FPL points (tied with Sessegnon for highest Fulham scorer).

He's had more shots, goal involvements and big chances created than any other Fulham defender and faces an Everton side with one clean sheet in 10 matches.

  14. 'Haaland has become a powerful differential'published at 15:44 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Joe: I'm 30 points behind my FPL rival and still have my TC and BB. I was debating Halaand in an attempt at to make up points. Do I go all in and triple captain?

Hi Joe, 30 points can absolutely be made up in 3 gameweeks and with two chips left I think you have a very good chance. Haaland has become a powerful differential but if he does start I can’t see more than 65 minutes and with this in mind I would therefore save the triple captain chip until Gameweek 38. In the final week you will know how many points you need on your rival and could triple captain Saka vs Southampton or Salah who will be lifting the Premier League trophy at home to Crystal Palace.

  15. 'We will see a huge variety in FPL manager choices this week'published at 15:42 British Summer Time 9 May

    FPL Q&A

    Gianni Buttice
FPL expert and eight-time top-50k finisher

Who is the best captain this week?

Just like last week, there are plenty of good options this week and we will see a huge variety in FPL manager choices.

With both Isak (vs Chelsea) and Salah (vs Arsenal) having tough fixtures, expect their captaincy ownership to lower than usual. Although it must be said that both players can still go big, especially when playing at home against any opponent.

Brentford’s Mbeumo is however the most obvious option, he has great stats against the newly-promoted teams and Brentford are creating a huge amount of chances.

Elsewhere, Manchester City attackers have arguably the best fixture match-up of the week and, whilst I have not considered captaining Marmoush, De Bruyne is a very tempting option who did well for me with the armband last week.

It goes without saying, if you own Haaland and are confident of a start, he is a fantastic captain.

  19. Captain Haaland - FPL madness or a punt worth taking?published at 15:32 British Summer Time 9 May

BBC Sport FPL writer, best finish 9,100th

    Erling HaalandImage source, Getty Images

If you are trying to make up points in FPL then why not take the ultimate gamble and captain Haaland?

Will he start away at Southampton? That's not even guaranteed with the Norwegian returning from injury, but Pep Guardiola will want him match fit in time for the FA Cup final on 17 May. This is the last game before that.

The City boss confirmed the striker's return to fitness in his news conference earlier and if he does start then this is instantly a match with haul potential. Southampton's defence is the worst in the league, their season is over.

In normal circumstances, Haaland would be the best captain pick this week. If managers knew he was starting, he'd be the most popular captain choice.

So I think he's a risk worth taking - especially if you want to close a big gap in your league.
