And on Kristoffer Ajer: “No [setback]. We thought that the prognosis looked like he could be available for Fulham. But when we started loading the foot, it didn’t respond as well as we hoped. Two/three weeks [out].”

  5. Sutton predictions: Hammers and Toffees to share pointspublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

West Ham v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

BBC Sport columnist banner for Chris Sutton

West Ham are in trouble. As I said on the Monday Night Club, they don’t really have an identity under Julen Lopetegui.

He has always been a pragmatic manager in my eyes but they want to be a more expansive side and he is stuck somewhere in between at the moment.

There is a lot of uncertainty around them at present, and I am certainly not convinced by them at home. They beat Manchester United there a couple of weeks ago, but they were lucky to win that one.

While the Hammers are still above Everton in the table, the Toffees’ had been in better form, but then they lost at struggling Southampton last week which is a disappointing defeat whichever way you look at it.

The only team Everton have beaten away this season is Ipswich, so I would not feel confident backing them to bounce back with a win here.

I don’t want to pick another draw, but this has got one written all over it.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-2

  6. 'No new injury concerns' for Ipswichpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Tottenham v Ipswich (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna provided an injury update ahead of a huge fixture against Tottenham Hotspur: "There are no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s game."

Defender Axel Tuanzebe is making good progress with his hand injury and could be available for selection following the November international break along with fellow defender Jacob Greaves who is "almost back in full training" while there is hope midfielder Jack Taylor will also be available after the break.

Defender Dara O'Shea is again set to play despite an ongoing back problem.

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo on winning Premier League manager of the month and Chris Wood winning player of the month:

"I'm very proud of the way we've been doing things. All of us - starting from the owner to the staff in the training ground. Everybody has been working very hard and it's very nice to be recognised. I think it's an effort from the club.

"Very pleased also for Chris. It reflects the hard work but it's more important you remain humble.

"He's much more than the goals it's what he represents and what he means for us. He puts everybody together, his presence in the dressing room, his voice, his experience. We are delighted."

  9. De Cordova-Reid is 'doubtful' for Foxespublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Man Utd v Leicester City (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Leicester City

Leicester City boss Steve Cooper has provided an update on the availability of his players: "Bobby [De Cordova-Reid] missed the game against Ipswich and still hasn't returned to the grass.

"He picked up quite a nasty wound in the League Cup game against Manchester United on his Achilles.

"It is an awkward position because it keeps opening up when he tries to go to the next step. We're hoping that can heal quickly so he is probably doubtful for the weekend, but apart from that we are alright."

  10. 'Villa have coping mechanisms to cope with setbacks'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Liverpool v Aston Villa (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Emile Heskey
Former Liverpool and England striker on The Football News Show

It boils down to the manager [Unai Emery], how do you get them going and motivated again?

[Villa] have so many staff who can get you focused and ready, coping mechanisms to cope with those setbacks.

They have people who can get them over that last one and ready for the next one, which is huge against Liverpool.

If you're not mentally prepared for that, you're going to struggle. I think they have got the staff to get them over that hump they've been on because, overall, they have been fantastic.

  12. Villa 'have to adapt' to Premier League's improvementpublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Liverpool v Aston Villa (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on the Premier League: "I think it is the most difficult league in the world, because we have the better teams, historically and now in the moment we are.

"The available coaches, the available players and of course they are progressively arriving, a lot of young coaches, fresh coaches with a lot of ideas tactically. Football is going so quick and of course we have to adapt, we have to learn, we have to be better."

  13. Emery 'wants to forget' Mings handball incidentpublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Liverpool v Aston Villa (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on Tyrone Mings' handball incident in the Champions League against Club Brugge: "It's football, we made a mistake and I want to forget it. It's not necessary to speak about it again.

"The action was something that was not usual, it's not normal. We had to try to understand the rule and then keep going."

  14. 'Apologies to everyone for sitting on the fence again'published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Crystal Palace v Fulham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

BBC Sport columnist banner for Chris Sutton

Palace’s form has started to pick up and they almost got their second win in a row last week - they had a 96th-minute winner disallowed against Wolves, when it should have stood - or at least as far as I could see.

Fulham are always stronger at home, but they are a nicely balanced team and they have picked up a few points on the road too.

Apologies to everyone for sitting on the fence again, but I am going for another draw.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

  15. 'It's my fault I didn't substitute Nketiah earlier against Wolves'published at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Crystal Palace v Fulham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner on team news: "Ebere Eze is out, Adam Wharton after his surgery is still out, Jefferson Lerma is out and Eddie Nketiah is out with a hamstring injury.

"Will Hughes is suspended with his fifth yellow card, so it’s quite a tight squad.

"At Villa, Eddie was the guy who was sprinting the most on the pitch in 83 minutes. I think it's my mistake, it's my fault that I didn't substitute him earlier in the Wolves game, because he was sprinting again.

"In the Wolves and the Tottenham games, we were the number one in high-intensity runs in the Premier League. I think I should have subbed him a little bit earlier.

"He felt it during the game, something in his hamstring, but he was fighting for the team until almost the end of the game. Now he has problems with his hamstring and let's see how long it will take."

  16. 'Man City have to control the possession a lot better'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Brighton v Man City (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City and Tottenham midfielder on The Football News Show

Brighton have fallen away a little bit of late. It's a tough place to go but Manchester City have a great record against them.

[City] have to control the possession a lot better, be more clinical at the top of the pitch. They have to get the wide players right, whether it be Jeremy Doku or Savinho or Bernado Silva.

[Erling] Haaland has got to try to change that little bit of a spell where he's not scoring away from home.

Defensively they have to be much more sound. Counter-attacks will be key, Brighton will be looking at that. They have to get things under control, those sorts of movements that are so important to Pep [Guardiola].

They haven't been as clinical in recent weeks. There is a lot to improve from recent games. Not conceding first is a massive factor because they are doing that too often.

  17. Guardiola's players 'have proved many times what they are capable of'published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Brighton v Man City (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

On what he's learned about his players after their recent defeats, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola finished his brief news conference with this: "I have known them for nine years and they have proved many times what they are capable of.

"It's not changed the opinion I have of them. Sometimes this happens and you have to understand it."

  18. 'We know the reason why we struggle'published at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Brighton v Man City (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

In response to his players not being used to losing one game, let alone three, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said: "They are in different competitions."

On reassuring them and Bernardo Silva appearing to be down following the defeat to Sporting: "I don’t think so. Of course, we are not used to losing three games in three different competitions but it is football and it has happened.

"We know the reason why we struggle but we are looking forward to this game and after the international break, and after that a few players will be back and recovered. All the little problems we have with players will be solved. I hope."

  19. 'Not much more news' on Van Nistelrooy's futurepublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Man Utd v Leicester City (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy on his personal future, with Ruben Amorim scheduled to take charge from Monday:

"It has been a special period [to take charge] and it was important to get through the four games as well as we could.

"We've done very well so far, the players reacted very well in the games. The focus is now to build on that and show that on Sunday with a big game ahead and a massive three points that are there to win.

"I don't know if it will be emotional, I take it very pragmatic as well. I'm very proud to be able to fulfil this but we'll see how it will feel on Sunday.

"Other than that, there's not much more news from yesterday evening. Ruben and I are both focusing on our teams and our games."

  20. 'I've got to know the players and how I can help'published at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Man Utd v Leicester City (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Manchester United

Now here's more from Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was asked how he has felt during his short time in interim charge of Manchester United: "I've enjoyed it, it gave a lot of energy. The reaction of the players was outstanding.

"As an assistant, you are quite close to players, so in the past three months I've spent a lot of time with the players and got to know them very well as human beings and also as football players, where they are in their development and how I can help. I think that relationship is helping now that we are together and we want to achieve something together.

"That bond is there, I feel very supported so that gives a lot of energy, and the support of the fans obviously was amazing. That also gives lots of confidence and energy. So far, so good."
