    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on Ipswich: "Yeah I think every weekend, every league game, has it's potential to hurt you if you're not at your best. Ipswich will be no different.

"They got close last week, close the week before. I think Kieran McKenna has done an unbelievable job. We're expecting a tough one on the weekend, our form at home has been pretty strong."

  2. Spurs 'building up' captain Sonpublished at 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Tottenham v Ipswich (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on captain Son Heung-min: "Yeah like I said, for Sonny, he obviously had the injury and we brought him back and the first game back, he had a relapse. We don’t want to put him in that position.

"We’re managing his minutes, building him up. He got a good 55 minutes on the weekend, he got a good 45 minutes last night. hopefully we can build that up. Hopefully we get him back and keep him back. We can’t afford more injuries in that position. We got Wilson, Richy, Mikey, we can’t afford to lose another player. I will always make decisions that are best for the club and for us and what we are trying to achieve."

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on the league table: "There's still a hell of a long way to go and for us, what's important is we keep progressing in the way we have been. Our football for the large part has been pretty consistent, pretty good. We've obviously had a few stumbles along the way.

"Within that context I still think we're making progress and that's what we will keep doing. There's no point looking at the table now because ultimately where we are at the end of the season is what counts."

  6. Spurs will work with Richarlison to 'get him back up'published at 11:44 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Tottenham v Ipswich (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on Richarlison: "Very disappointed, I said in the lead-up [last week], we tried to take a different approach. He worked awfully hard on his rehab and not just his rehab, his general fitness.

"He’d really trimmed down in terms of his conditioning. He was doing everything right. We eased him back into playing, trying not to overload him but unfortunately he broke down again. He's disappointed but ultimately we've just got to keep getting him back in there and working with him to get him back up because he's an important player."

  8. 'The first mistake was from the goalkeeper'published at 11:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Liverpool v Aston Villa (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Emile Heskey
Former Liverpool and England striker on The Football News Show

It was a strange mistake to make. I put a bit of blame on Tyrone Mings and a bit of blame on the goalkeeper Emi Martinez.

These things are all set up in training, you do these things time and time again in training. You're going over and over things. If your goalkeeper is passing the goal-kick to you every time, why are you doing it the other way.

There's two mistakes there, where you've improvised and then thrown someone off who has just come back into footbal after a long time out injured. Then Mings has made a schoolboy error where he has picked the ball up.

It was very baffling for me but the first mistake was from the goalkeeper.

On Nunez. Yes he misses loads of chances but when he's on it he holds up play, makes the runs, works his socks off, defends the lines, runs the channels and has a spectacular goal in him. He's a handful! Don't forget too his assists. He is a very unselfish player.

    Anon

Nunez is a poor man’s Firmino at best. Doesn’t score that many, misses a lot of the chances he gets. His final ball is often poor. This has been the case since he signed. Move him on.

  10. 'Spurs' approach can be crazy, but I love watching it'published at 11:19 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Tottenham v Ipswich Town (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

BBC Sport columnist banner for Chris Sutton

I got a lot of stick for saying I supported Nottingham Forest last week - as well as a few of the clubs that I played for; Norwich, Blackburn and Celtic - and regular 5 live listeners will know that I have been accused of having Tottenham as another one of my teams.

They aren't, but I make no apologies for being a fan of Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou and his style of expansive football. At times it is crazy, with the risks they take, but I love watching it.

My Canaries connection means no-one is going to ever mistake me for an Ipswich fan, so this may shock a few people, but I felt sorry for them last week.

They have briefly come out of Norwich's shadow to reach the Premier League and are desperate for their first win of the season, but they were on the wrong end of a couple of shocking late decisions in their draw with Leicester.

They have the advantage of not having European football this week - they have not had to worry about that for more than 20 years - while Tottenham played Galatasaray in Turkey on Thursday.

I still think Spurs will win, though, and Ipswich will be back in the Championship with Norwich next season.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou gave a team news update before his news conference: "Last night, I think everyone got through it unscathed. So everyone from last night should be ready to go.

"Cristian Romero is the one that we will see how it goes. [We have] training today and tomorrow and we'll make a call on him."

  12. 'Man City have a point to prove, I'm expecting a response'published at 11:10 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Brighton v Man City (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

BBC Sport columnist banner for Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

Brighton ended up losing last week, but they absolutely played Liverpool off the park at Anfield for 45 minutes.

I'd not seen much of Seagulls midfielder Yasin Ayari beforehand but I was at the game for 5 Live, and what a great young player he looks. The same goes for Jack Hinshelwood too.

The way they played out from the back, with such bravery and confidence, was impressive and Liverpool had to dig very deep to recover from 1-0 down and beat them.

Manchester City are going to have to do the same to get back to winning ways. After they lost to Sporting on Tuesday, City midfielder Bernardo Silva said they are "in a dark place" at the moment but they are champions for a reason and I am expecting a response.

They have got a point to prove, and that might help them find the energy they will need.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Brighton v Man City (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City and Tottenham midfielder on The Football News Show

This is how everyone else lives. They've not been through this, what is going on?

They've only lost three games and it is a major crisis, that is where Pep Guardiola has managed to get this team. The Premier League record is incredible.

It's a really, really difficult task going to Brighton with a depleted squad. I think there's the the personnel there but it's a bit different when they're all carrying injuries. We've got Rodri missing and Kevin de Bruyne, I think that tells a lot of the story.

You can maybe carry one but with two it is going to show. De Bruyne does stuff that nobody else can. Overall the squad are finding it tough to cope with the amount of games but I do feel there will be a reaction just around the corner.

  14. Who are overperforming in the Premier League?published at 11:00 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Opta have also calculated the clubs who are currently overperforming their expected points at this point in the season.

Nottingham Forest have an expected 15.8 points after 10 games but they have actually amassed 19, having only lost one game so far.

Defending champions Manchester City have an expected 18.8 but are on 23.

Top of the table Liverpool have an expected 20.8 but have 25.

Brighton have an expected 13.5 but have 16.

Interestingly, Arsenal are ninth in the table for expected points. So, for all the talk of Arsenal missing a striker, they're actually winning more points than expected.

Take a look at how your club is doing:

  15. Who are underperforming in the Premier League?published at 10:55 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Wolves and Crystal Palace are underperforming in the top-flight this season, according to Opta.

They have crunched the numbers and at this point in the season Wolves have an expected 8.1 points but actually have three. While Palace should be on 11.8 but have 7.

Manchester United are one of the more high profile names who have less points than expected. Opta say they should be on 15.1 but have 12.

This is based on expected points calculated from game outcome simulations based on individual shots x8.

  16. 'I hope we continue with the same intensity'published at 10:50 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Brentford v Bournemouth (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on if he is concerned there will be a drop in performance: "I hope it doesn't happen but a lot of times it happens. Against City you cannot allow an inch of space, otherwise you are going to be punished. I hope we continue with the same intensity, the same grit, the same performance because Brentford have players who can make the difference and who could punish us the same way as the City players."

  17. 'How do you react to these games where we have had good results?'published at 10:45 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Brentford v Bournemouth (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola was also asked if his players asked for a day off as a reward for beating Manchester City: "No, they knew before that they already spent [the day off] against Arsenal. Villa and City they had to come in the next day to recover. I think we have prepared well, I think we have tried to do a normal week, I think they have trained well. But normally when you lose games the important thing if how you react to these games you have lost and now I think it is a bit of the same. How do you react to these games where we have had good results?

"But a lot of people are now expecting us to drop our performance, I hope we don't. I hope we don't because we go to an unbelievable place. [Brentford] are a difficult team to beat, we know them very well and they know us very well. They are a super competitive team and will think that if they beat us they are ahead of us. For us it is a very important game."

Chelsea players were told to be better at scoring goals from set-pieces before their 8-0 win over Noah in the European Conference League.

The Blues brought in set-piece specialist Bernardo Cueva from Brentford in the summer but before last weekend they had only scored one goal from a set-piece.

"My goal (against Noah) is something we have worked a lot on in training with the set-piece coach," said defender Axel Disasi.

"He told us we had to score tonight because since the beginning of the season we haven't scored many set-piece goals. I'm sure he will be very happy with the two goals tonight."

I can't believe what I'm reading about Chelsea. How arrogant to think that just because they beat a very poor side 8-0 they are deemed too good for the competition. What utter contempt for the other teams! Bet they won't beat a stronger team like Fiorentina.
