Both Manchester United and England currently have interim bosses with their permanent successors now known.

Ruben Amorim is set to take over from Ruud van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford while Thomas Tuchel will take the England reins from Lee Carsley.

The final two games of Carsley's interim spell come in the Nations League on 14 and 17 November. He named his squad for those games on Thursday and many of today's newspapers are reporting that Carsley has not spoken with Tuchel yet, with the Star saying the only contact they have had has been via text message.

    Manchester United

Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy said he would have to "check his phone" to see if incoming manager Ruben Amorim had contacted him after last night's 2-0 Europa League win over Greek side PAOK.

The Portuguese will take charge at Old Trafford from November 11 after the upcoming international break.

"I think that Ruben focuses on [Sporting at] Braga and I focus on Leicester [in the Premier League on Sunday]," Van Nistelrooy said post-match.

After recording his second win in three games in temporary charge - either side of a 1-1 Premier League draw at home to Chelsea - the former United striker would not be drawn on talk about his future.

"For me it was important to get results," he added. "I can only be happy with the performance that the players put in.

"I enjoy it but Sunday is another one and I'm so focused on doing that so I'm not thinking of what is next."

Shamrock Rovers came from behind to beat The New Saints 2-1 and maintain their unbeaten record in the Europa Conference League.

Jordan Williams fired the Welsh side ahead after just 14 minutes at the Tallaght Stadium.

But goals from Celtic loanee Johnny Kenny and Dylan Watts earned the Irish Premier Division side all three points in south Dublin.

It means Shamrock Rovers have taken seven points from their opening three fixtures in the European competition.

TNS have three points at the midway stage of the league phase of the tournament ahead of matches against Djurgarden, Panathinaikos and Celje.

Hugo Vandermersch scored a 79th-minute winner to shatter Larne's dreams of making more European history as St Gallen ran out 2-1 winners at Windsor Park.

After losses to Molde and Shamrock Rovers in the European Conference League, there was hope that Larne could collect a first point or win in Europe when Abdoulaye Diaby turned into his own net in the third minute.

The opener provided the loudest cheers of the night from the home support as the Larne players celebrated, but reality soon hit as the Swiss Super League side started to show their class.

St Gallen, who had a goal disallowed moments before Larne's opener, got a deserved equaliser when captain Lukas Gortler fired a superb volley beyond Rohan Ferguson in the 29th minute.

Larne, the first Irish Premiership team to reach this stage of European competition, held their own against the Swiss side but the decisive moment came with 11 minutes to play when Vandermersch smashed the ball home from close range after a counter attack.

It was a heartbreaking result for Larne, who remain bottom of the Conference League after three defeats, while St Gallen picked up their first win in this season's competition.

Bundesliga side Heidenheim edged out Hearts at a raucous Tynecastle to maintain their 100% record in the Conference League and end that of their hosts.

The Edinburgh side sit second bottom of the Scottish Premiership, but dictated play against their German visitors in the first half without finding the way to goal.

After suffering nearly an hour of pressure, Heidenheim found the goal that overcame Neil Critchley's side when Sirlord Conteh cushioned a header beyond Craig Gordon after a blistering attack.

The hunt for the equaliser was timid, and in a rinse and repeat move for the visitors, Jan Schoppner glanced in to silence the home fans.

Cyriel Dessers rescued a precious Europa League point for Rangers as they came from behind to hold Conference League holders Olympiakos in an intimidating atmosphere in Greece.

The Belgian striker, who missed two gilt-edged first-half chances, pounced on a defensive error, created space and fired into the corner from the edge of the area to reward an impressive away performance from Philippe Clement's side.

The draw leaves the Ibrox side on seven points with a trip to Nice to follow at the end of November, followed by meetings with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray inflicted a first Europa League defeat of the season on 10-man Tottenham in Istanbul.

Teenage forward Will Lankshear was dismissed for two yellow cards on the hour mark for Spurs, having earlier scored his first senior goal for the club in only his second start.

However, by that stage the visitors should have been out of sight with the final scoreline barely reflective of an encounter that was dominated by the hosts.

Despite the result Ange Postecoglou's side still remain well placed to qualify from the group stage, with nine points from four games, although the Turkish league leaders have now leapfrogged above them in the table.

Amad Diallo’s second-half double gave Manchester United the win they needed over Greek champions PAOK to kick-start their Europa League campaign and give incoming boss Ruben Amorim a shot at sealing a coveted top-eight finish.

Amad was by far United’s biggest goal threat. He broke the deadlock when he sent a looping header into the far corner five minutes after the interval.

The Ivorian sealed the win when he curled home from the edge of the area 13 minutes from time.

Tarik Tissoudali wasted PAOK’s best opportunity when he failed to convert from eight yards with only Andre Onana to beat.

Onana also made an acrobatic save to deny Mady Camara during a largely drab opening half.

The victory was United’s second in their past 12 European games and their first this season after starting the expanded Europa League competition with three successive draws.

Their next game in the competition, against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in three weeks’ time, will be Amorim’s first home game as head coach.

Chelsea recorded the biggest Europa Conference League victory as they crushed Armenian side FC Noah.

The Blues, playing a completely different team to their last Premier League game, led 6-0 at the break - and added two more in the second half.

They took the lead when Tosin Adarabioyo headed in Enzo Fernandez's corner. Noah lost the ball almost immediately following their kick-off and Marc Guiu won the ball and scored.

Axel Disasi headed in another Fernandez corner, then Fernandez fed Joao Felix who ran through and clipped the ball over the goalkeeper.

Mykhailo Mudryk scored the goal of the game when he curled a fine shot into the top corner, before Felix netted his second via a deflection.

Christopher Nkunku, who also hit the bar, hooked in a seventh from an angle after his initial shot was saved. And the Frenchman then scored a penalty which he slammed down the middle.
