Rachel Daly gets her head on the resulting corner but can only direct it over.

Manchester City feel like they want a penalty. It doesn't look like Martina Fernandez got much of the ball, either, but the referee doesn't think Kerolin Nicoli was fouled.

Anna Patten, who turns 26 today, plays a great long ball forward to skipper Rachel Daly but she gets her attempted flick wrong and the ball drops out for a Spurs throw in.

Just like in the first half, it's been a relatively slow game since the restart. Both sides are looking to take the lead but neither have caused any true danger.

Clare Wheeler sends a long ball towards the City box but it's comfortably collected.

There's been plenty of attacking intent on show from both sides in the opening ten minutes of this one, but the managers will be increasingly concerned with how open their sides look at the back.

Makes things more entertaining for the neutrals though.

Huge chance for Aston Villa but Lucy Staniforth can't take advantage.

In trying to play out from the back Tottenham defender Amanda Nilden plays the ball straight to Staniforth, but having taken a great first touch to clear her feet she fires over the angle of post and crossbar.

Katja Snoeijs looks to carve an opening for Everton but can't do anything. Her pass towards Karen Holmgaard has too much power on it and goes behind.

It's a very poor delivery from Maite Oroz and it's thumped clear at the near post by Noelle Maritz.

Nice work from Jess Naz to reach the byline and win the first corner of the game for the hosts.

Honoka Hayashi is replaced by Karolien Olesen at the break for the visitors.

Another effort on goal for the visitors as Missy Bo Kearns takes aim from distance. She doesn't catch it sweetly enough though and it's an easy claim for Lize Kop.

Almost the perfect start for Villa!

She fires a low cross into the six yard box but Tottenham keeper Lize Kop grabs it just ahead of Rachel Daly's sliding challenge.

Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly has scored in each of her four WSL starts against Tottenham Hotspur (5).

Only two players have managed to score in their first five starts against Spurs in the competition: Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw and Chelsea’s Sam Kerr.

Final preparations are complete and there's just the usual pre-match formalities to go before kick off.

Three points would be huge for either of these sides as they look to end a disappointing campaign on a positive note.
