The early kick-off is just the first of a dozen games in League Two on a day which could see several things set in stone.

They may have led the way for much of the season but Walsall have not yet confirmed a place in the play-offs.

The Saddlers would do so if they win at Newport this lunchtime OR if they draw AND either Colchester or Grimsby fail to win at 3pm.

They could also ensure a top-six spot even if they lose, so long as either Colchester or Grimsby are also beaten.

Later on, Port Vale will secure promotion to League One if they win, Doncaster and Bradford both lose AND AFC Wimbledon fail to win.

This is because Doncaster and Bradford face each other next weekend and therefore both sides cannot collect maximum points from their remaining fixtures.

Doncaster will secure a play-off place if they avoid defeat against Colchester or if Grimsby fail to win.

Bradford will book their play-off place if they beat Chesterfield or if either Colchester or Grimsby fail to win.

AFC Wimbledon will book their play-off place if they beat Gillingham AND either Colchester or Grimsby lose.

At the other end, Morecambe will be relegated UNLESS they beat Salford AND Tranmere fail to win.

Carlisle will be relegated if they lose to Accrington AND Tranmere win.

You're all set for an afternoon of drama...

Newport are in the bottom half of the table, eight points off relegation as things stand.

Walsall are chasing promotion but have fallen out of the automatic promotion spots for the first time in five months.

The one thing these sides have in common?

Neither of them have tasted victory in their past five league matches.

Newport have lost three and drawn two, while Walsall have lost two and drawn three.

Today is as good a day as any for that to change.

Morecambe's fate could be sealed this afternoon when they host Salford City. They are eight points adrift at the foot of the table and will be relegated from the EFL unless they win.

Even if they do win and Tranmere do the same against Barrow, it would still spell the drop.

Carlisle United stunned leaders Port Vale on Friday and will be full of confidence when they travel to Accrington Stanley, who are two places above them, this afternoon. If they win and Tranmere lose, they would be just one point from safety.

MK Dons and Harrogate Town are seven points above the relegation spots and would be safe if they defeat Crewe Alexandra and Fleetwood Town respectively. Safety could also be secured if they lose, depending on the Carlisle result.

Just the seven points separate Port Vale in first and Notts County in sixth in League Two.

Walsall dropped out of the automatic promotion places for the first time in five months when they drew with Harrogate Town on Friday as their winless run stretched to 11 games. They will look to change that this afternoon when they travel to Newport County.

League leaders Port Vale suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Carlisle United. Darren Moore's side host Grimsby Town today as they try to extend their lead at the top.

Second-placed Doncaster Rovers host Colchester United in an important match for both sides, while Bradford City travel to Chesterfield. It's always fun when teams in the top half face each other at this stage of the season.

Salford City could potentially move to within a point of the play-off places if they win at bottom-side Morecambe and Colchester and Grimsby lose.
