Ryan East scored an early double as in-form Rochdale climbed to second in the National League by beating Solihull Moors 4-1 to register a fifth successive win.

Midfielder East headed home his first goal of the season on the rebound in the eighth minute and then volleyed in Tobi Adebayo-Rowling's cross nine minutes later.

Devante Rodney converted a pass from Connor McBride to stretch Dale's lead with only 20 minutes played before Sam Beckwith curled in a fourth early in the second period.

Solihull, who had picked up seven points from their previous three matches, pulled a goal back in the 58th minute through Callum McFarlane.
