Plymouth claimed their first League One win under new boss Tom Cleverley with a 1-0 home victory over Steve Bruce's Blackpool.
Argyle midfielder Malachi Boateng was the match winner, cutting in from left and hammering home from inside the box after being set up by Ayman Benarous in the 48th minute.
Plymouth – who lost their opening four league games – started well with Alex Mitchell's far-post header cleared off the line by fellow central defender Oliver Casey in the second minute.
Argyle's new Swiss striker Lorent Tolaj could have made a dream start after Bradley Ibrahim's defence-splitting pass to Bali Mumba, whose shot was well saved by goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell who came off his line quickly.
But Swiss striker Tolaj – who joined Argyle from Port Vale on Friday on a four-year deal – fired the 10th-minute rebound inches wide.
Blackpool striker Dale Taylor scuffed his 25th-minute close-range shot wide before Luca Ashby-Hammond was forced to palm over Albie Morgan's dipping 20 yarder in the 32nd minute.
Mumba nearly made it 2-0 in the 75th minute after driving in from the right and letting fly but keeper Peacock-Farrell flapped the ball away.
