Is Giorgio Marchetti the twin brother of Claudio Ranieri? Uncanny resemblance!
John, Bournemouth
Giovane Elber, who won the Champions League with Bayern Munich in the early 2000s, is the special guest.
He says the changes to the UCL format make it more interesting.
Giorgio Marchetti has been welcomed on to the stage. He'll oversee the draw. We're in safe hands.
He starts by reminding us this is the last draw of the Champions League this season. There will be no more after this.

So in short, Liverpool who finished top and best of the English teams stand a 50/50 chance of getting PSG and a worst draw than the other English teams... Hmm...

Actually, bring back the Get Involveds. Uefa are showing us a recap of the League Phase stage. This might take a while.

Club Brugge have been the team that no one wants to face.
Away from home, a difficult tie. Club Brugge have proven why they're in this competition. They have just beaten the Europe League champions, Atalanta.
They will be feared.
Stop the Get Involveds, the draw is on!
We've just had the music, Pedro Pinto is hosting.
Aston Villa will play either Club Brugge, who overcame Atalanta, or Borussia Dortmund, who beat Sporting 3-0 on aggregate after a second-leg 0-0 draw.
Arsenal have traded Martin Odegaard to Barcelona for their second-place pick...
Yeah, not sure I see it to be honest.

My idea to make the knockouts more exciting is the team starting first get to choose who their opponents are and the manager says it live on air. Imagine the scenes of Hansi Flick calling out Real Madrid and asking to play them.

I think that [PSG] is the one Liverpool fans are hoping to avoid. They are potentially looking at the Benfica game and going 'that would be the ideal opponent', especially with the way the Premier League is going at the moment.
They will be thinking that would suit them a little bit more and they'd fancy their chances.
Arsenal will play either Feyenoord, who knocked out AC Milan, or PSV who advanced past Juventus in extra time.
Utterly rubbish may be a little harsh, Sri. I can see some merits from Tom's system.
That said, maybe it's the NFL play-offs that needs fixing, not the Champions League...

Re: Tom that format is utterly rubbish. It is heavily loaded in favour of the top teams. The team qualifying in last place pulls of a massive upset in knocking out a top team and then has to face the next best team. There should be a reward for such an upset. Advantage for finishing first is to have the bottom placed team in the first round. After that, follow the draw.
Sri, London.
Liverpool will face either Paris St-Germain, who demolished Brest 10-0 on aggregate after a 7-0 victory in the second leg, or Benfica.

Anyway, here's how today's draw will work:
Folks, myself included, do just love a random unseeded draw though.
Yesterday I said we should just do away with the group stages and have an anyone-can-play-anyone knockout phase.
I've never seen so many thumbs up before.

'I completely agree with Tom 10:38. Would be interested to know why people are down voting - whether it's the concept or people are just anti-NfL'
