  1. Who is Mosquera?published at 13:59 British Summer Time 14 July

The 21-year-old, who was born in Alicante but has Colombian heritage, started out as a basketball player before making the switch to futsal and joining local side San Blas Canavate, who were looking for an additional player to play in a youth tournament at the time.

Mosquera swapped his love of futsal for football in 2013, joining Alicante's biggest team Hercules, and playing as a pacey winger. He then joined Valencia's youth set-up as a 12-year-old in 2016.

Six years progressing through the club's youth ranks sparked his transformation into a defender, and he finally made his first team debut in a Copa del Rey fixture against CD Atletico Baleares in January 2022.

The versatile 6ft 3in defender, who can play at both centre-back and right-back, has now racked up 90 senior appearances for Valencia, scoring one goal along the way.

Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera has agreed personal terms with Arsenal, with a move to the Premier League club getting closer.

BBC Sport previously reported that Arsenal were in talks to sign the 21-year-old but now another element to the deal has been completed.

The Gunners have been looking to add a young defender to their squad to compete with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Mosquera can play at both centre-back and right-back and will fill the gap in the squad left by the departure of Takehiro Tomiyasu, who mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

The Spain Under-21 international has made 90 appearances for Valencia and was a regular last season, playing the full match in 37 of the club's 38 La Liga games.

So Gibbs-White has a contract that states he can leave if a team offers £60m, then another team offers £60m but Forest refuse to honour the contract. Why are Forest acting like the victim, when the victim is actually Gibbs-White because Forest are breaching his contract. Surely Gibbs-White should take legal action against Forest for breach of contract. Forest are not going to do themselves any favours, this will make future signings not want to go there if this is how Forest honour contractual agreements

Morgan Gibbs-White's future at Nottingham Forest remains up in the air amid an odd - and confusing - situation.

On Thursday BBC Sport reported that he was set to have a medical at Tottenham before completing a £60m move.

However the following day, sources told BBC Sport that Nottingham Forest are considering legal action over Tottenham's interest in the midfielder.

Forest are believed to be looking at whether a specific confidentiality agreement in the £60m release clause in Gibbs-White's contract has been breached.

Sources have told BBC Sport that Forest are furious at Tottenham's conduct in their pursuit of the England international, and they insist Forest's threat to take legal action is genuine.

It is understood Forest insist they have not given Spurs permission to speak to Gibbs-White and are willing to go to whatever lengths required to prevent the transfer taking place.

Under Premier League rules clubs are not allowed to talk to players under contract with another team unless they have permission.

Tottenham are aware of the situation but are still hopeful a deal can be concluded.

  9. Morgan Gibbs-White reports for Forest trainingpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 14 July

Alright, it's 'man goes to work' territory.

But how many Nottingham Forest fans expected this when news broke last week that the midfielder was set to have a medical ahead of a £60m move to Spurs?

For now, he remains a Forest player and here he is at training.

Arsenal expect to reach a full agreement with Sporting inside the next 24 hours for the 73.5m euros (£63.5m) signing of Viktor Gyokeres.

Sources have told BBC Sport that a club-to-club deal for the Sweden forward is now in place with just minor details left to resolve.

All parties are working towards the signing being completed in time for Gyokeres to travel with the Gunners to Asia for their pre-season tour at the end of the week.

The offer, inclusive of add-ons, is an improvement on Arsenal's previous proposal of 70m euros (£60m).

Gyokeres, 27, has already agreed terms on a five-year deal.

BBC Sport revealed at the start of the month how Arsenal had turned their attentions to Gyokeres after hitting an impasse in their bid to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta flew to Lisbon towards the end of last week to lead negotiations with Sporting.

Up next, we'll be discussing the latest transfer news including the latest on Arsenal nearing a double deal and Spurs' move for Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White.

  16. Chelsea end PSG's dream of seven titles in one yearpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 14 July

Paris Saint-Germain had a dream run in the knockout stage of the tournament, winning all three of their games 10-0 on aggregate.

Firstly they completed a 4-0 demolition of Inter Miami in the round of 16, then they took a 2-0 win to see off Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and finally they thumped Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals to ease through to the final.

Luis Enrique's side thought they might be on the brink of doing something no other club in history has ever achieved: seven titles in one calendar year - but Enzo Maresca's Chelsea clearly had something to say about that.

PSG went into the final with four titles under their belt - the Trophee des Champions, Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and Champions League - and victory against the Blues would've added a fifth to the cabinet, with the Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup still to come this year.

    What could've been, hey!

Malo Gusto, who has also been widely criticised over recent months, has voiced his frustration about the perception of Chelsea and the squad.

The French full-back said: ‘It was a clear goal [to win the tournament], and we achieved it.

"A lot of people spoke badly about us. They didn’t respect us. We showed that we deserved to win this trophy.

"Since Chelsea started the new project, we haven’t necessarily been respected. People tend to say we’re young, that we’re not used to playing these big matches.

"We’ve been able to compete against these kinds of teams."

When you spend big money, there is always going to be higher expectation.

But Cole Palmer has Enzo Maresca's back and has called for more respect now that the young squad have formed a more cohesive unit.

"He’s building something special, something important," Palmer told DAZN.

"We’ve got a young team, everyone’s talked a lot of [expletive] about us all season but I feel like we’re going in the right direction."
