Both sides threatened but could not make the breakthrough

Partick Thistle and Greenock Morton started their Scottish Championship campaigns with a point each at Firhill.

Morton started the better, with Owen Moffat, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Arron Lyall threatening.

Thistle came more into the game and Kyle Turner, Scott Robinson, Aidan Fitzpatrick and Harry Milne all having opportunities.

Morgan Boyes and Moffat threatened again for the visitors, while Logan Chalmers' free-kick for Thistle was just too high.

The draw means Thistle have gone three games without a victory within 90 minutes, although they did take the penalty shoot-out bonus point in a League Cup group game draw with Motherwell.
