Kai Williams denied 10-man Ebbsfleet victory with a late equaliser as Tamworth came from behind to claim a draw with the National League’s basement boys.

The hosts started brightly with Kennedy Digie seeing a fifth-minute attempt blocked on the line before Josh Wright was eventually contained by the Tamworth defence after breaking clear.

Tom Tonks blazed over for the home side after his long throw had been repelled, and it was the visitors who took the lead when Toby Edser rounded off a pacy counter-attack with 28 minutes gone.

They held on to that advantage until 11 minutes from time when Williams levelled, and Tamworth’s chances of claiming all three points were boosted two minutes later when the visitors saw Franklin Domi sent off for a second bookable offence.

However, Fleet keeper Mark Cousins made a crucial stoppage-time save to keep out substitute Chris Wreh’s header and ensure his side left with something to show for their efforts.
