A stunning Dylan Watret strike against struggling Airdrieonians was enough to continue Ayr United’s Scottish Championship title-challenging start to the season.
Scott McMann thought he had opened the scoring for the visitors only to see the offside flag go up in a stop-start match.
And instead it was 18-year-old right-back Watret – already linked with a move to Manchester United this season – who proved the difference maker.
He blasted the ball past Murray Johnston from outside the box high into the top corner to secure all three points.
