We asked Tottenham fans for the one thing no one is talking about at their club but should be.

Here are some of your comments:

John: Sonny is a hero, no question, and he will endure as a Tottenham legend. This season with injuries he is now a yard slower. He will no doubt see out this season and see out next season on his contract extension, beyond that unlikely. Who will carry his leadership flame after he has moved on?

William: No one ever really seems to talk about Pape Sarr, despite how good he’s been for us for a while now. He keeps it simple, breaks up play well, has an eye for a pass and plays with a smile on his face. Ange often rotates his midfielders, but I think Sarr should play more regularly, as he compliments our attacking players very well.

Paul: No one seems to be talking about the loss of form this season compared to last of Son and Romero. Son looks to have lost a yard of pace and Romero sometimes looks as if he is playing in slow motion and lacks urgency even when we have been chasing a game. We need to sign a top class keeper, central defender and another striker, and offload Richarlison.

Michael: I don’t understand why people are complaining. We have a new manager and young squad, half the team is injured and we're playing exciting football! A couple of bad results yes but this is best football we have played in years!

Paul: To state the obvious, it’s a rollercoaster ride being a Spurs supporter with many highs and the frequent lows. The choice of Ange as manager perfectly reflects that experience. Playing out from the back has its obvious benefits but is full of risks and quite often leads to painful punishments. I think this dogma will end in tears.

  2. Sutton's predictions: Bournemouth v Tottenhampublished at 11:42 5 December 2024

Chris Sutton and The Slow Readers Club

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against a variety of guests.

For week 14, he takes on James Ryan, bassist with rock band The Slow Readers Club.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-2

Good luck to anyone trying to predict this one. The only thing I am sure about is that there will be a lot of goals.

Wolves went toe to toe with Bournemouth on Saturday and the Cherries created chance after chance.

Tottenham will go toe to toe with the Cherries too, and there are going to be a lot of opportunities at both ends.

I don't want to go for another draw this week, and I think Bournemouth are more likely to edge it... but rather than trying to pick a winner I am going to say they will share the points.

    Ryan's prediction: 2-1

Spurs remind me of what Manchester City used to be like, back in the day. They can smash someone 4-0, then get hammered themselves the next game. I am going with Bournemouth to beat them here.

Tottenham are unbeaten in three matches since returning from the international break.

However, the impressive win at Manchester City has been slightly overshadowed by home draws with Serie A strugglers Roma and Fulham - especially since Ange Postecoglou's men led in both of those games.

But you know your club the best and we want you to tell us the one thing - good or bad - that nobody is talking about regarding Spurs at the moment?

  4. Postecoglou on Moore, signing another striker and Bournemouthpublished at 11:22 4 December 2024

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media before Thursday's Premier League game at Bournemouth (kick-off 20:15 GMT).

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

    • Archie Gray "has recovered well" after picking up a knock, while former Cherries striker Dominic Solanke is set to return to training today but "is still not 100%" fit.

    • Meanwhile, centre-back Cristian Romero is "due to have his last couple of sessions" of rehab and then will be back in training "at the latest early next week."

    • On "speculation" around the fitness of Mikey Moore: "I come out here and I want to be as transparent as I can, but this is a 17-year-old boy. It's nothing serious. It's nothing long term. He's a big part of this football club and we will protect him and we'll be guided by how he feels. He'll be back."

    • He said his side are "progressing in all aspects" of the game despite battling injuries in most departments: "We've scored a lot of goals but defensively, we're much more consistent than we were last year."

    • On the busy festive schedule: "It's a Thursday-Sunday cycle for us pretty consistently. They've all recovered well, no issues from [Fulham] and we're ready to go for a big game."

    • He said opponents Bournemouth "are one of those sides where they have a real consistency in performance and approach so you know that you're in for a battle. They've beaten Manchester City and Arsenal at their place. I'm really looking forward to it."

    • He said left-back Sergio Reguilon "is ready" if needed as he is "part of the squad": "He is in the last year of his contract with us. We'll see how that all transpires. There's nothing wrong with his attitude and he's been training all the time."

    • On the possibility of Tottenham signing another striker: "There's no doubt we need some bolstering in that front third over the next couple of transfer windows. Dom [Solanke] coming in has been great, but again we can't overload him either. It's something we're aware of and need to plan for."

  5. 'Ange’s stubbornness might get the better of him'published at 12:24 3 December 2024

Is it possible to trust the process too much?

As we all know by now, Ange Postecoglou is very clear about the style of football he wants his team to play and is adamant that they will play this way no matter what.

When it works, it can be spectacular. Expansive, thrilling, high-scoring – football at its most entertaining.

However, with any reward worth having, there is usually a risk involved. In the case of Angeball, this manifests as performances that are at best frustrating, at worst infuriating, and invariably ultimately disappointing – football at its most unsatisfying.

I fear that Ange’s stubbornness might get the better of him before too long – if it has not done so already. Granted, Spurs fans love watching this style of play when it works, but many are growing increasingly tired of watching us struggle against teams we should arguably be beating.

Ange has made it clear he wants to win, but it seems he would rather his team play entertaining football at all costs. I want to see this football too, but I am equally happy to watch us scrap for three points every now and then when needed.

Recent injuries, illnesses and suspensions aside, what is the more substantial issue that is causing such inconsistency? Is it an inability to pick the lock of a low block? Is it an arrogance and complacency towards ‘inferior’ opposition? Is it a blind faith in a system that has been drilled into them by a manager who is either unwilling or incapable of adapting?

Whatever it is that is troubling Spurs right now, one thing is clear: the only way to survive Angeball is to accept you cannot change it.

Buckle up, Spurs fans. This rollercoaster has a lot of track left to run.

We asked for your thoughts after Sunday's Premier League game between Tottenham and Fulham.

Here are some of your comments:

    Tottenham fans

Paul: We just did not play with any intensity and we were lucky to get a draw. Unfortunately Son is a shadow of the player he was. We should have substituted him off instead of Werner. Maddison is becoming too peripheral in these important league games. Davies had a good solid game but Dragusin needs to improve his awareness. He gets caught out too often.

Terry: True to form, Spurs do it again. Thank goodness for Ben Davies and our goalkeeper, they were both terrific. Son certainly had an off-day, but so did a few others. If Kulusevski was fit enough to come on as a substitute then why didn't he start the match? Spurs' passing was very slipshod. They must have thought it was going to be an easy game - wrong.

Alexander: Ange, just not good enough! You are stuck on a 4-3-3 system that does not work for us. Swallow your pride and change back to the 4-2-3-1 system that worked very well against Manchester City, especially when we have such a weak defence.

Emilio: We can't be so inconsistent and expect to win anything. Having been starved of trophies for so many years, I am sure that a lot of fans - like me - would rather win ugly than look good and concede goals that we shouldn't. Don't blame the fans Ange - if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

    Fulham fans

James: Fulham back at the races after last weekend's debacle. We turned up and really took the game to Spurs and, again, strange moments will be what we remember the game for, aside from it being a positive away result against a very good side.

Lucas: It was a good performance for a very good point. Despite the difficulty of the game, we should have come away with triple the points, if we were clinical enough. It nearly cost us the game. It was a good performance overall though, and a good bounce back from last weekend.

Dave: Given the fact that we almost gifted Spurs a goal in the first 50 seconds, we really took the game to them. We competed well in all of the key areas. Our full-backs were outstanding. We just needed a striker to put the ball in the back of the net! Bring on Brighton.

Bob: Frustrating... another two points dropped. We do need to finish teams off. It was a shame about the red card, but still Tom got his goal and helped us to get a precious point. We have a strong side now and we shouldn't struggle to overcome teams. Inspired substitutions by Marco.

Brennan Johnson has scored 10 goals across all competitions for Tottenham this season, with only Erling Haaland (17), Mohamed Salah (12) and Christopher Nkunku (11) netting more amongst all Premier League players. All 10 goals have been non-penalty goals, with only Haaland netting more such strikes (15) amongst English top-flight players.

The Spurs roller-coaster shows now sign of slowing down or getting any less bumpy. They are the Premier League's top scorers with 28 goals, but sit only seventh in the league.

This was a particularly frustrating day for Ange Postecoglou, who saw his side withstand heavy pressure to take the lead - only to give it away.

Spurs are also heavily hampered by injuries, suspensions and lack of fitness, which saw Dejan Kulusevski start from the bench.

Kulusevski had created 33 Premier League chances going into this weekend, more than any other player, and had started 11 out of Spurs' 12 previous league matches.

But he started from the bench here, was sent on after Fulham's equaliser, and was little involved except to have Tom Cairney's studs scraped down his ankles.

Ultimately, this was another downwards curve in the roller-coaster that is Spurs' form.

  12. 'Everything we do well is used as a millstone to bring us down'published at 16:17 1 December 2024

Tottenham Hotspur's Greek-Australian Head Coach Ange Postecoglou gestures on the touchline during the English Premier League football match between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur StadiumImage source, Getty Images

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been discussing the draw in his post-match news conference: "It was a tough game, a tight game, not a lot of openings for either side. We started well, we should have been 1-0 up. Then they had their spell and Fraser [Forster] made good saves.

"We just could not push on. We tried to get momentum late in game, when they were down to 10 men, but we just couldn't get it done.

"I know people use [the win at] Manchester City as a reference point, but I was able to put on Johnson and Werner, and I had Vicario in goal. I know people are looking for easy targets, but what the players are having to deal with is self-evident.

"We are going to have to protect our players. We don't have many options, so we will manage them the best we can.

"I've had questions about the Manchester City game. In seven days we have copped some significant blows, we can't play like we did against City in every game.

"With this club, everything we do well is used as a millstone to bring us down at every opportunity. We can't react to any of that.

"I just feel that the players we have at the moment are working hard to get us where we want to be, and we are still in decent shape and a decent position in the league."

  14. Sutton's predictions: Tottenham v Fulhampublished at 11:18 1 December 2024

Chris Sutton's predictions v boxer Sunny Edwards

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against a variety of guests.

For week 13, he takes on boxer Sunny Edwards who is a Chelsea fan.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

I love watching Tottenham and what they do. They were missing Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero against Manchester City last week but went to Etihad Stadium, played brilliantly and kept a clean sheet too.

The big worry for Spurs is Guglielmo Vicario got injured in that game. Fraser Forster is an excellent goalkeeper, who has had a great career, but he is not renowned for being brilliant with his feet.

Forster can appear a bit clunky on the ball, a little bit like I did when I played for Chelsea, and that could be an issue because of the way Ange Postecoglou wants Tottenham to play.

Fulham were on the opposite end of a four-goal scoreline at home to Wolves last weekend but, going off what I've seen from them this season, that is likely to be a one-off.

The Whites have scored in every game this season, apart from their opening-weekend defeat at Old Trafford, and they will be dangerous here too.

So I don't think this will be easy for Spurs but, if their forwards play like they did against City, they will come out on top again.

    Sunny's prediction: 2-1

Tottenham are looking dangerous. I don't want to say they will win, but I think they will.
