Qualifying was an incredible session, I've not seen anything like it - a record number of red flags and stoppages. Very action-packed; I almost can't remember everyhing that happened, it was so intense! But Max Verstappen at the end, putting it in top.

  2. Chassis changes for both Colapinto & Piastripublished at 11:14 BST

Esteban Ocon is starting from the pit lane but the Frenchman won't have anyone to keep him company there.

McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Alpine's Franco Colapinto have both undergone chassis changes following their qualifying shunts but neither driver will have to move down the order to the pit lane because they are of the same specification. As you were in P9 and P16.

  3. Pit-lane start for Oconpublished at 11:10 BST

Esteban Ocon was knocked out in Q1 yesterday, so he's not moving too far from his original place of P18. But after the session on Saturday, the Haas driver was disqualified from qualifying after his rear wing failed a deflection test, so he'll pack up and start from the pit lane instead.

Hello, folks. There was not one, not two, not even three, but a record SIX red flags during yesterday's chaotic qualifying session in Azerbaijan. And we lost some big names in the madness, too. Title leader Oscar Piastri crashed out, four-time polesitter Charles Leclerc ended up in the wall - it was all go.

Lights out is at 12:00 BST.

The famous blustery conditions in Baku caused havoc up and down the grid and neither McLaren could book their spot on pole position, as Lando Norris also tapped the wall on his flying lap in Q3.

That means the front of the grid today features Max Verstappen on pole and Carlos Sainz and his Williams in second alongside him and the Racing Bulls of Liam Lawson lining up in third place.

After some tough love from Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, Kimi Antonelli has completed step one of his Monza recovery and will start P4 on thie grid, one place higher than his team-mate George Russell.
