It's a terrible day for Ferrari. The Monegasque man is out of the car safely as his car just sits there in a bit of a heap. He was coming in too strong and he locks up and smacks the barrier head on.

Lewis Hamilton had looked really quick this weekend and not quite on Charles Leclerc's pace but pretty much right there.

The last few minutes of that session really seemed to go away from Ferrari, Leclerc has been quick all weekend and he's only managed sixth place.

Will we get to hear any team radio between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari after that knockout? The seven-time world champion has looked strong this weekend but he's fallen at the second hurdle and will start 12th on tomorrow's grid, sharing a row with his old buddy Fernando Alonso.

Lance Stroll, meanwhile, is furious on the Aston Martin team radio. "Crazy tail wind, it's brutal," the Canadian is told by his engineer.

Lando Norris set his time on a used set of soft tyres whereas the others behind him were on a new set of tyres.
