Fernando Alonso goes eighth, pushing Lewis Hamilton down into 11th. And now Charles Leclerc gets his time on the board and goes up to fourth, so that's Hamilton now in 12th and in the drop zone.

Charles Leclerc has been the main man in Baku qualifying - four in a row - but he's against the clock now to get his lap in and make it through to the pole fight. Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, only goes to 10th on the timehseets.

Charles Leclerc got his track time taken off him because of track limits so that actually puts him into the drop zone. He really really needs to get on with this now.

It just shows you that this track is really quite demanding.

Charles Leclerc is on his way to setting the first time of Q2 but the Ferrari man bails out at the opening corner and aborts the lap, bringing out a very quick yellow flag. The track is green once again but that's another stuttering moment in this Baku qualifying.

I imagine right now they can still get two performance runs in, it will be pretty close especially as we keep seeing red flags and people going off down the escape roads.

It will be really important for them to maximise and give themselves the best opportunity to get a lap in.

It could actually be how the sun is coming over and a lot of the track now from what it was this morning is in the shade. You would be amazed how much of a difference that actually makes.

  16. 'It was a silly error' - Albonpublished at 13:54 BST

Williams' Alex Albon spoke to Sky Sports after crashing out in Q1: "A bit of a rookie error, I think I was first out on my first push, the first car through Turn One and I had absolutely no grip.

"Then when I came back a lap later it was huge grip but I can't blame anyone, it was a silly error to be honest with you. It's a shame because we've been really quick all weekend.

"I think we've been top eight in almost every session and it should have been pretty much the same through qualifying. It's frustrating and I wish I had a reset button."
