Stephanie Meadow remains on course to progress to the LPGA Tour School finals after three of the four rounds at the LPGA pre-qualifiers.

The Northern Ireland golfer carded a round of three-under-par 69 at the stage two event in Florida to lie tied for eighth position on three under.

Meadow had posted scores of 71 and 73 in her opening two rounds.

The top 80 at the Plantation Country Club will secure spots in the final qualifier in Florida in early December.

Meadow is having to go through the qualifying process to secure a LPGA Tour card despite finishing a superb third on her professional debut at the US Open in June.

Su-Oh, Alison Lee and Ginger Howard lead on eight under at Daytona ahead of the final round.

Meanwhile, Royal County Down youngster Olivia Mehaffey finished an impressive fifth at the World Junior Girls Championship in Canada on Wednesday.

Mehaffey was the top British and Irish finisher after rounds of 77, 67, 74 and 72 left her sharing fifth spot with Angel Yin's of the United States as both finished 11 behind winner, another American Mika Liu.

The Royal County Down player's performance helped Ireland finish seventh in the team event.
