    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (11)

    The 514-yard par-four 12th is next.

Scheffler's in the rough, but I think he's drawn a decent lie there, it seems to be sitting up. A yard or so more and he's in the sand.

He's right down the middle of the fairway. Advantage on the 12th goes to Bob.

    C'mon...

    Hall -9 (12)

Harry Hall, who is playing for a spot in next week's tournament and a potential Ryder Cup pick, first pumps as he nails a par putt on the 12th.

Luke Donald will be watching closely, I'm sure.

  3. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (11)

Scheffler does indeed roll it in for a birdie.

A two-shot lead with seven to play.

Impossible for Bob? No. Improbable? Perhaps.

  4. Postpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13 (11)

MacIntyre stands over his putt, probably knowing Scheffler will make birdie when it's his turn.

He gives it an admirable attempt, but it's a foot to the left. Par it is.

  5. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (10)

That's the spirit... but I'm not sure you've seen much of Scheffler this season with this sort of optimism.

    We'll take it, though.

Europe’s Rose last week, Bob will get it done this week. Scottie’s about to implode …

Bob up first, he flies it long, and it refuses to spin back. It's safe, but not what he wanted.

He's hunched over, hands on his knees. He's not happy at all.

Scheffler, naturally, manages to spin it back to within around six feet.

  7. Postpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (10)

The scariest shot for an amateur hack here, straight and over some water... no worries for these two I'm sure.

    Time to use those thumbs...

Up for the current leader, Scheffler

Both players opt for an iron off the tee at the 11th, with water in play down the right and a left-to-right bend in the fairway.

Their tee shots both find the middle of the widest part of the fairway.

Sensible plays, he says, as if he wouldn't slice it into the water...

Five Europeans and five USA in the top 10 now. Ryder Cup here we come.

    As I said earlier...

This is all starting to feel very Andy Murray-esque.

It would be boring if it were easy though, eh?

  12. Postpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (10)

A solid attempt from off the green as it rolls up to a couple of feet away for Bob. Par it is.

Scheffler has a chance for birdie... but it trickles by!

It remains a one-shot lead. Bob has to take advantage, and fast.

  13. Postpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (9)

Guess what? Scheffler fires a dart to within 10 feet. His consistency is awe-inspiring.

Bob's shot lands at a similar distance but it has some amount of backspin on it, and soon rolls off the green.

  14. 🚨 Bob is in the fairwaypublished at 20:46 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (9)

At last, he's in the middle of the fairway off the tee at the 10th.

He can control his approach play much more from here. It is imperative that this trend now continues for the lefty.

At the start of the week, if you had offered Bob the chance to be just one behind with nine holes left to play, he would certainly have taken it.

The back nine has been his friend as well, as he has been ten under for his first three rounds from holes 10 to 18.

  16. Postpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time

    Right, back-nine time.

Can Bob find a spark? Here's hoping.

  17. Postpublished at 20:42 British Summer Time

    MacIntyre -13, Scheffler -14 (9)

A decent par on the ninth for Bob after another wayward tee shot. He needs to start finding some fairways.

Scheffler has a long look at birdie, but it trundles a foot or two past. He too walks off with a par.

A fair old hit from Scheffler hurries down the fairway.

MacIntyre, again, finds the rough off the tee.

Big putt there from Bob for par at the eighth.

And with Scottie missing his birdie putt could this be the turning point for Bob? Still one back, but could have been worse!
