Talented mare Only By Night finished an impressive second in the Arkle Challenge Trophy for trainer Gavin Cromwell last month and will be hoping to go one better here.

That makes it back-to-back Grand National successes for Willie Mullins.

It is his third victory in the race after winning it in 2005 with Hedgehunter.

The Grand National is the most valuable contest in jump racing with a total prize fund of £1m.

Racehorse owners receive about 80% of the prize money with the remainder mainly split between trainers, jockeys and stable staff.

Patrick Mullins, what a cool, calm and collected performer. He is an amateur but he rides a lot of good horses. To do this on a big occasion like this and for Willie Mullins to have the first three is just phenomenal.

The winning owner has just carried winning jockey Patrick Mullins back into the parade ring!

Incredible scenes at Aintree at the moment.

ITV have just tried to interview Willie Mullins, the winning trainer, but he is far too emotional to speak at the moment. He is fighting back the tears as he speaks.

He said: "It was some result. It is lovely to be able to give your son a ride in the National, but to be able to win it is just unbelievable."

ITV are going to try again with him shortly.

Winning jockey Patrick Mullins on ITV Racing: "I'm too out of breath to say anything. It is incredible. I got too good a start and had to take him back all the way but he jumped fantastic. It a dream from when I was a kid. When I was a kid I watched videos so this is very special. He's fine - I need a cold bath myself. He's not big but he is brave as a lion."

The owner of Nick Rockett has just given Patrick Mullins a huge hug.

He looks like he's shed some tears. Who can blame him? He's a Grand National-winning owner.
