    Talented mare Only By Night finished an impressive second in the Arkle Challenge Trophy for trainer Gavin Cromwell last month and will be hoping to go one better here.

    Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has live chances with two horses that he part-owns.

    L’Eau Du Sud has a Grade One win under his belt this season and was fourth in the Arkle for the Skeltons.

    While Kalif Du Berlais, trained by Paul Nicholls, drops down in distance to two miles after running over 2m 4f last time out.

    Tom Bellamy has been taken to Aintree University Hospital for further assessment. All other jockeys returned to weighing room.

    Celebre D’Allen has walked onto the horse ambulance and will go back to the stables for further assessment. Broadway Boy is still being assessed on course.

    The Grand National is the most valuable contest in jump racing with a total prize fund of £1m.

    Racehorse owners receive about 80% of the prize money with the remainder mainly split between trainers, jockeys and stable staff.

    Patrick Mullins, what a cool, calm and collected performer. He is an amateur but he rides a lot of good horses. To do this on a big occasion like this and for Willie Mullins to have the first three is just phenomenal.

    ITV have just tried to interview Willie Mullins, the winning trainer, but he is far too emotional to speak at the moment. He is fighting back the tears as he speaks.

    He said: "It was some result. It is lovely to be able to give your son a ride in the National, but to be able to win it is just unbelievable."

    ITV are going to try again with him shortly.
