    Irish Guards

The Irish Guards have been standing over the 2025 Grand National trophy this morning. It was particularly good to meet Seamus the 5-year-old Irish Wolfhound, who is the regimental mascot for the Irish Guards.

Weather wise, the wind is quite gusty here, meaning racegoers are facing a bit of a task to keep their hats on. But otherwise very sunny.

Although we've not seen him at his best this season, it's a vote of confidence that jockey Paul Townend has opted to stay with I Am Maximus. There are a lot of positive noises about how much this horse has improved.
