    Etherington and guide Caroline Powell beat GB team-mate Kelly Gallagher and guide Charlotte Evans by 0.46 seconds to give themselves a massive boost ahead of the Winter Paralympics in Sochi in March.

    Racing continues on Friday before skiers head to the next World Cup in St Moritz, Switzerland from 3-6 February.

    Following the excitement of last night's Premier League games, there is more action tonight with four games which all kick off at 19:45 GMT.

    After Arsenal dropped points against Southampton on Tuesday night, Manchester City can go top of the table with a win over Spurs at White Hart Lane in a game you can hear live on BBC London 94.9.

    If they slip up, Chelsea could also go top if they beat West Ham and BBC London 94.9 will also have commentary from Stamford Bridge. Elsewhere, it is Sunderland v Stoke and Aston Villa v West Brom.

    Italian side Nocerina are thrown out of the country's third division after players faked injury during November's derby against Salernitana.

    The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) took the action after Nocerina players were reluctant to play following death threats from their own "Ultras" fans.

    Nocerina made three substitutions and five players went off injured as the game was called off after 21 minutes.

    Three biathletes from Russia and Lithuania are provisionally suspended from competition by the International Biathlon Union after returning positive drug tests.

    The news comes ahead of the start of the Sochi Winter Olympics on 7 February.

    "This case is now being dealt with in a disciplinary process before the IBU Anti-Doping Hearing Panel, according to the IBU Anti-Doping Rules in accordance with the Wada Code," said the association's secretary-general Nicole Resch in a news release.

    French side Paris St-Germain plan to present their new signing Yohan Cabaye at a news conference at 17:30 GMT.

    The French champions agreed a fee of around £20m with Newcastle earlier this week for the 28-year-old France midfielder.

    Middlesbrough's Australia defender Rhys Williams could miss his second successive World Cup finals after suffering an Achilles tendon injury in Middlesbrough's 0-0 draw with Wigan on Tuesday.

    Williams, 25, who missed the 2010 finals with a pelvic injury, was carried off on a stretcher just before half-time after twisting his body sharply.

    "His face and the doctor's face were not good. He was crying and I feel sympathy for him," said Boro manager Aitor Karanka. "It is a very bad injury for him."
