Europe's Ryder Cup hero Martin Kaymer extended his lead with a second round of 69 in the Players Championship at Sawgrass.

Kaymer held a two-shot advantage overnight thanks to his course record-equalling 63 on Thursday and is five clear of the field after posting a halfway total of 132, 12 under par.

A quick 800m opener is won by Ethiopia's Mohammed Aman in 1:44.49. Britain's Andrew Osagie finishes in eighth in 1.46.08.

World number one Rafael Nadal beat sixth seed Tomas Berdych for the 17th time in a row to reach the semi-finals of the Madrid Open.

The Spaniard, 27, extended his eight-year unbeaten run against Berdych with a comprehensive 6-4 6-2 victory.
