The big sports news from Thursday was the Football Association commission's proposal for a new division of Premier League B-Teams, which would sit between the current League Two and Conference.

It is a proposal that has stirred up plenty of debate and strong views from the media and throughout the Football League, and we will take a look at the reaction from this morning's newspapers shortly.

It has also whipped up plenty of debate on social media so we want to know, if you were on the FA commission, what would you suggest to help improve the quality of upcoming English footballers? Is there a place, somewhere in the football pyramid, for a competitive division contested primarily by Premier League B teams?

Derby hold a slender advantage after the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final with Brighton following a 2-1 win at the Amex Stadium.

Jesse Lingard fired past Lee Grant from inside the box to put Brighton ahead after his first attempt was blocked. Chris Martin levelled from the spot after Matthew Upson fouled Craig Forsyth.

Derby went in front just before half-time when Martin's strike hit the crossbar and bounced in off the back of Brighton keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

Football Association chairman Greg Dyke warns that failure to adopt his plans to improve English football could lead to a bleak future for homegrown talent.

Dyke's proposals, which include a new tier within the Football League to accommodate Premier League B teams, have provoked lots of criticism.

But he tells BBC Sport: "It's not enough to say we will do nothing. His commission, he said, had thrown up analysis that was "pretty damning of the future for English football".
