    This has been Jose Mourinho's first season back in English football and he says: "I like to be back in English football. I don't enjoy defeats but to lose at Crystal Palace is English football. To lose at Newcastle, that is English football. To lose like we did against Sunderland or Aston Villa, is not English football. I like English football, I don't like what is not English football."

    Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has just arrived for his final pre-match news conference of the season and is swiftly asked to give his thoughts on the campaign, with the chance to win the title now beyond them.

    He says: "It has been positive. There was an evolution in every competitive aspect. This season we fought until it was mathematically impossible, the previous game. It was an evolution.

    "Last year we were relegated into the Europa League. This year we were in the Champions League semi-finals."

    The Lawn Tennis Association says it has been made aware of Slovenia's Aljaz Bedene intention to declare his allegiance to Great Britain.

    The 24-year-old Bedene, who first set up a base in the United Kingdom in March 2008, has a highest ranking of 71. He has lived permanently in Hertfordshire since 2011.

    The LTA said in a statement: "We have been made aware that Aljaz Bedene wishes to switch his nationality. He is currently progressing with his citizenship application which will take some time, and in the meantime he will continue to base himself in Hertfordshire."

    Arsenal had gone 18 years without a league trophy when they travelled to Anfield on the final day knowing they needed to win by at least two goals to take the title away from Liverpool.     England are one of five countries to express an interest in hosting the 2019 Women's World Cup.

    BBC Sport understands The FA are keen to explore the possibility of hosting the tournament and want to gather more information ahead of a possible formal bid.

    Other countries believed to have informed Fifa that they may want to stage the competition include France, South Africa and South Korea. Fifa are expected to make an announcement this afternoon confirming the names of the five countries.

    And Ryan Stevenson will also miss out as the relegated Jambos bring the curtain down on their 33-year stay in the Scottish Premiership after he was ruled out with a knee injury. Long-term absentee Callum Tapping remains on the sidelines with a knee injury.

    Former test player Craig McMillan is appointed New Zealand's batting coach for the upcoming tour of West Indies.

    Capped 55 times, the 37-year-old former all-rounder had worked as batting coach for Canterbury, juggling the role with his commentary career.

    "We had a number of strong applicants from New Zealand and abroad but overall we felt that Craig was the best fit for the role," NZC head of cricket Lindsay Crocker says.

    The Daily Telegraph, external reports James Wilson is set to sign a new long-term contract as Manchester United step up their efforts to protect their emerging talents.

    Wilson marked his first senior appearance for United with two goals in Tuesday night's 3-1 victory over Hull City and is expected to commit his future to the club this month.

    The Telegraph also report the 18-year-old forward, whose deal expires in the summer, had been on the radar of a number of leading European clubs.
