"After a nightmare day on Sunday, an impressive partnership between Sam Billings and Adam Ball of 68 saw Kent save the follow-on. Billings eventually departed for a very good 42 from 141 deliveries with the score on 113. The Kent tail enders just added one more to the score as the visitors were bowled out for 114 on the stroke of lunch.

"James Fuller and Will Gidman did the majority of the damage, Gidman finishing with enormously impressive figures of 4 for 14 from 12 overs. After 16 wickets fell on the first day, the pitch inspector has been to have a look but has concluded, as everyone else had, that it's a very good pitch and is now flattening out even more."
