    Jonny Wilkinson's announcement that he is to retire brings to an end a remarkable career and one which saw him slot the World Cup-winning drop-goal in 2003. In total, Wilkinson made 91 appearances for England and played in four World Cups. He also travelled with the British & Irish Lions in 2001 and 2005, making six Test appearances in the process.

    At club level he played for 12 years at Newcastle Falcons and then moved to Toulon in 2009. At Toulon he helped guide the club to the Heineken Cup title in 2013 and will go for two more trophies at the end of the current season.

    Jonny Wilkinson announces that he will retire from rugby at the end of this season in a statement published on Toulon's official website., external The fly half, most famous for winning the 2003 World Cup for England with a drop goal, will turn 35 the day after Toulon's Heineken Cup final against Saracens on Saturday.

    Wilkinson says: I would like to take this opportunity to formally announce my retirement from playing rugby. It goes without saying that I have an enormous number of people to thank for their support from all around the world, but especially here in France and in England.

    "This however is not at all the time to be concentrating on this as I would like to focus all my attention and energy on the team and these final two games of the season. I sincerely thank you all for everything you have given me and for making these last 17 years something I will never forget."

    Thousands of fans line the streets of Perth during an open-top bus parade to celebrate St Johnstone's Scottish Cup final victory over Dundee United.

    Goals from Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean earned Saints a 2-0 victory over their Tayside rivals on Saturday, securing the first Scottish Cup success in their 130-year history.

    St Johnstone chairman Steve Brown says he is "elated and emotional". "It means everything to me that people of the city come out because the club should be about the city. It is a community club," he adds.

    Delia Smith says Norwich City considered a managerial change in January but there was nobody available to replace Chris Hughton. The Canaries sacked Hughton in April and replaced him with youth coach Neil Adams but he was unable to save the club from relegation to the Championship.

    Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk with fellow majority shareholder Michael Wynn-Jones and Norwich chief executive David McNally, Smith says: "In January it was bad, the football wasn't good, but we didn't feel there was anybody better out there."

    Seamer Chris Rushworth signs a contract extension, external with Durham that will keep the 27-year-old at the county champions until 2017. Rushworth says: "It's my home club, and to be given a new deal for a longer term is good as it shows the club has plenty of faith in me.

    "It's a big confidence booster and I hope that by 2017 we can win a few more titles and I can keep taking wickets."

    Rushworth helped Durham win the County Championship last season, forming a formidable partnership with Graham Onions.

    Seventy fans are injured, none seriously, after a barrier collapses, external in the La Liga match between Osasuna and Real Betis. The game was stopped for half an hour as fans spilled onto the pitch following Osasuna's opening goal in the 12th minute on Sunday. A total of 60 people were treated at the ground and 10 were taken to hospital, according to the local Red Cross. Osasuna won the game 2-1 but were relegated as other results went against them, ending their 14-season stay in the top flight.

    Ospreys say they are in talks to re-sign James Hook. The utility back, 28, who has won 75 Wales caps, left the Liberty Stadium to join Perpignan in July 2011 and signed a four-year extension last September.

    But it is thought he has a get-out clause that can be activated after the French club's Top 14 relegation. However, Ospreys say any deal would hinge on the regions signing a Rugby Services Agreement with the Welsh Rugby Union.

    Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner has not been offered a new contract and will leave the club at the end of June, with West Bromwich Albion interested in his services.

    Norwich City chief executive David McNally says the club's search for a new manager is taking longer than expected.

    But McNally tells a phone-in on BBC Radio Norfolk: "It's just a matter of days."

    Norwich, relegated from the Premier League, are seeking a permanent replacement for Chris Hughton, who was sacked last month.
