    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer on Arsenal's FA Cup triumph

"Few will begrudge Arsene Wenger his moment after watching his agonies over recent years, the days when promise has not been turned into end product, when optimism has suddenly crumbled around a highly respected and popular figure.

"This was his reward, eventually after that harrowing opening spell when he must surely have feared the worst once more.

"Wenger has every right to celebrate this success but he must not - and surely will not - believe that this means Arsenal do not still require serious investment."

So will Monday be the day that Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal is confirmed as the new manager of Manchester United? The Daily Telegraph seems to think so. Northern football correspondent Mark Ogden writes:, external "With Van Gaal having agreed a three-year contract to succeed David Moyes as United manager, the club are hoping finally to confirm his appointment today and draw a line under the uncertainty that has enveloped Old Trafford since Moyes's dismissal last month.

"But with the Dutch squad given a rest day on Monday before flying to Portugal on Tuesday for a training camp, it is understood that United, Van Gaal and the Dutch football federation would prefer to tie up the appointment in the next 24 hours before World Cup preparations intensify."

"Jack Brabham's career coincided with those of other Formula 1 legends, notably Stirling Moss, Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart.

"Brabham was never considered to have the natural talent of those rivals, but he earned a reputation as a tough, uncompromising competitor and his career success surpassed all his contemporaries bar Stewart and Juan Manuel Fangio, with whom Brabham only briefly overlapped.

But no-one wins three world titles against drivers like that - in addition to the likes of John Surtees, Dan Gurney, Tony Brooks and others - without being pretty special themselves."
