    After a successful early career in go-karts, Wehrlein raced the Formula 3 championships in 2012, claiming the title of best rookie.

    "For me, it's a dream come true to take on my new role," said Wehrlein.

    The teenager will travel with the team from the Singapore Grand Prix onwards as part of his reserve driver duties.

    If you ever wondered why clubs are so desperate to get into the Champions League, here is the reason.

    Uefa has announced today that the 32 clubs who contest the group stages starting this week will again take home a minimum of £6.8 million irrespective of results.

    Every win during the group stage will earn the clubs a bonus of £795,000, while a draw will be worth half that amount.

    The club crowned champions of Europe in Berlin next June will receive £8.3m just for winning the final.

    All in all, not a bad incentive to do well.

    Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade, whose team are one point above the League One relegation zone, has been told he must get a result at Notts County tomorrow.

    "The president has been honest enough to tell me we have one game to sort it out," Slade told BBC London 94.9.

    "Hopefully we will get a response on Tuesday. The situation is we need to get a win or that will be curtains."

    Slade is the fourth longest-serving manager in the top four divisions.
