    A mediocre round by his standards meant Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy missed out on the £6m FedEx Cup prize.

    American Billy Horschel clinched the Tour Championship and secured the overall title.

    McIlroy, 25, who was competing in his eighth tournament in 10 weeks, described it as "a week too far", adding: "I was making mistakes that I don't normally make. But Billy deserved it - he played the best golf."

    Best golf maybe, but not sure about those trousers...
