    Now in their 27th year, they celebrate the outstanding contribution to sport made by elite performers, coaches, administrators, community volunteers and inspirational female figures.

    Fifa whistleblower Phaedra Al-Majid has said she will "look over my shoulder for the rest of my life".

    Al-Majid claimed she heard Qatari officials offer three African Fifa ex-co members $1.5m (£960,000) to vote for them as World Cup hosts in 2022.

    She said she was then coerced into signing a sworn, legal document retracting allegations of corruption.

    Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure helped Ivory Coast qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations on his 100th international appearance.

    Toure was presented with a commemorative shirt by his team-mates after a tepid 0-0 draw with 10-man Cameroon, who had ex-QPR man Stephane Mbia sent off.

    Roger Federer has trained for the first time since pulling out of the World Tour Finals with a back injury as he tries to get fit for Switzerland's Davis Cup Final with France.

    He was well wrapped up against the cold as he made a late and relatively brief appearance for a leisurely practice session.

    The Swiss captain Severin Luthi says Federer didn't feel any pain. He must confirm his four man team at tomorrow lunchtime's draw.

    Bad news for Atletico Madrid fans. Centre back Joao Miranda will miss their La Liga match at home to Malaga on Saturday with a thigh injury.

    Atletico are fourth in Spain's top flight after 11 matches, four points behind leaders Real Madrid.

    England fly-half George Ford believes his understanding with inside centre Owen Farrell can help Stuart Lancaster's men to their first win of the Autumn series when they face Samoa.

    "The communication from 12 to 10 is one that is massive in terms of the impact on the way you play," he tells England's official website., external

    "My relationship with Owen means a lot to me because we understand each other's game and we've obviously done it before.

    "We both try and bring everybody up to that [level of] understanding so we can gel as a team and go out there and put our game on the pitch."

    Teenage friends lining up together for their country is the stuff dreams are made of. And England pair George Ford and Owen Farrell will do exactly that at Twickenham on Saturday.

    The pair have been pals since meeting aged 13 and playing through the England youth ranks as a successful midfield partnership.

    Now they will line up for Stuart Lancaster's men against Samoa as Bath fly-half Ford makes his first Test start with Saracens' Farrell moving to inside centre.

    "Trainer Gary Moore says champion two-mile chaser Sire De Grugy has been diagnosed with a hip problem and will miss next month's Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown and possible Christmas targets.

    "The horse underwent a scan today and will have a further check-up in a month, but Moore is hopeful he'll return early in 2015 ahead of the defence of his title at the Cheltenham Festival in March."

    Test Match Special correspondent Jonathan Agnew will be commentating on equestrian events for BBC Radio 5 live at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

    To help him get a feel for his new sport, Aggers has jumped into the saddle for a series of horse riding lessons.

    But a video on the BBC Sport website shows it has not all been going completely to plan for the former England and Leicestershire fast bowler.

    A former employee of the Qatar 2022 World Cup bid team claims the summary of Fifa's corruption report ignored FBI evidence that she provided to investigators.

    Phaedra Al-Majid claims she was coerced into signing a sworn, legal document retracting allegations of corruption against Qatar.

    Now she tells BBC Sport that she stands by her original allegation that Qatari officials offered to pay Fifa chiefs $1.5m in return for them agreeing to back Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup.

    England head coach Stuart Lancaster defends his selection of Owen Farrell after the fly-half was moved to inside centre to face Samoa at Twickenham on Saturday.

    Farrell has faced some criticism for his performances in the Autumn Test defeats by New Zealand and South Africa, with some questioning his fitness.

    "I don't think Owen was to blame for either performance," says Lancaster. "Owen's a great communicator, a great leader, a great option for us and also support for George Ford."

    New England fly-half George Ford is confident he can handle any rough treatment from Samoa on his first Test start.

    Bath star Ford, 22, has been named in Stuart Lancaster's starting XV to face the Pacific Islanders at Twickenham on Saturday.

    "I presume they will be targeting me but I think it comes with the job title," he says.

    "Every time you step out there as a 10 the opposition team will target you so from that point of view nothing changes from my end."

    Tranmere Rovers sign striker Guy Madjo on a two-month contract.

    The 30-year-old from Cameroon has been on trial for the past month and knows manager Micky Adams from their spell at Port Vale together.

    Madjo began his professional career at Bristol City and has also played for Crawley, Shrewsbury, Stevenage, Aldershot, Plymouth and Macclesfield.
