West Ham manager Sam Allardyce tells reporters his January transfer targets are not yet clear and will change depending on the club's league position.

The Hammers finished 13th last season but sit fifth after 13 games of the current campaign.

Allardyce says: "We haven't revised our targets yet - they'll be revised if we're in the same position at the end of January."

  3. Liverpool offer Gerrard new contractpublished at 10:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed the club have offered captain Steven Gerrard a new contract.

Gerrard revealed in October that he could join another club at the end of the season if he was not offered a new contract.

The 34-year-old, whose current deal expires in May, said: "I won't be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season. We will have to wait and see if that's at Liverpool or somewhere else. That's Liverpool's decision."

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce says his side are feeling the pace of two games in three days.

The Hammers beat Newcastle 1-0 at Upton Park on Saturday but before the trip to the Hawthorns he faces one or two selection dilemmas.

"We've got a bit of fatigue when it comes to a Tuesday game," says Allardyce. "The biggest doubt is Mark Noble who had another kick on his calf.

"Enner Valencia comes back into the squad and it's about picking a team with the physical capabilities to come out again on a Tuesday."

  5. Warnock gone, Allardyce inpublished at 10:11 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Neil Warnock has now left the building, so we'll switch to West Ham where Sam Allardyce has arrived for his chat with the media before his side's trip to West Brom on Tuesday night.

  6. Villa unaffected by Keane exitpublished at 10:08 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Aston Villa's Joe Cole insists that the players were not affected by assistant manager Roy Keane's sudden departure just 24 hours before Saturday's 1-1 draw at Burnley.

After scoring what looked likely to be the winning goal, until Burnley's 87th-minute penalty equaliser, Cole told BBC WM: "We were just focussed on performing".

Villa lie 16th in the Premier League after their third successive draw, but their run of six straight defeats prior to that has left them just two points clear of safety.

  7. Crystal Palace news conferencepublished at 10:02 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Neil Warnock on Roy Keane's exit from Aston Villa: "I like Roy Keane. I have a lot of time for him, so whatever went on behind the scenes I'm sure Paul Lambert agreed to it and they can move on."

Palace v Aston Villa kicks off on Tuesday at 20:00 GMT.

  8. Crystal Palace news conferencepublished at 09:58 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Crystal Palace have just one win in seven before the visit of Aston Villa - themselves on an even worse run of form without a win since 13 September.

Warnock says: "Any of the bottom eight or nine are all going to have periods when they look as though they're in freefall, it's how you come out of them. Villa have quality and they believe in themselves. They come to our place knowing a win will turn their season around."

  9. Crystal Palace news conferencepublished at 09:52 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Birthday boy Neil Warnock turns 66 today and is reminded of it by the media. Someone asked 'are you looking forward to it'?

"No, not at my age. I had the kids on the phone singing me a song first thing this morning though, which was good," Warnock replied.

Warnock then referred to how long he'd been a manager. "I sent Steve Bruce a text on Saturday when he took charge of his 700th match and said '700 games, you've only just started'! I won't tell you what he text back.

"It's a hard life and a lonely life being a Premier League manager but there are days when it is rewarding."

  10. Crystal Palace news conferencepublished at 09:50 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2014

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock tells his news conference his side "need quality in one or two areas" in the January transfer window.

"The chairman supports me," says Warnock. "But we have a real genuine bunch who don't know when they are beaten. We have a special team spirit in there so we have to be careful of the type of players we bring in and they have to be better than what we've got.

"It would be better to bring in someone on 1 January but however hard you try it normally ends up in a scramble on the last few days."

The German wore a white helmet with 'my first day at Ferrari' written on it in Italian. The car he drove, in damp conditions, was the one in which Alonso narrowly lost out to Vettel in their title battle two years ago."

Crystal Palace entertain Aston Villa at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night.

The sides are 14th and 16th in the Premier League table respectively but Villa have not won in nine matches.

Palace manager Neil Warnock says: "Every point is so important in this league but the teams around you are the ones you want to try and pick up points against. But as Sunderland showed against Chelsea I think you can take points off everybody.

"We just have to take the games as they come and get what you can out of the game."
