    Everton club ambassador Ian Snodin on their draw against Young Boys in the round of 32: "We're very happy with that, I'm sure the boss, the players and the fans will be too.

    "It's a short journey over there as well, only an hour-and-a-half away.

    "I'm sure they'll be another invasion of Evertonians on the continent come February."

    "All Inter fans remember the European Cup final with the glorious team of the 1960s.

    "It is a fantastic tie - there are great emotions about playing at Celtic Park. It will be fantastic.

    "Both clubs have a strong history - both teams are well known not only domestically, but also on internationally."

    Fredy Bickel, Young Boys sporting director, speaking to Uefa.com about his side's meeting with Everton: "We are happy to have got Everton. They are a famous club and attractive opponents.

    "We hope to be able to count on our fans again on 19 February in Berne and to have an atmospheric match there.

    "We are expecting lots of English supporters as well. Maybe our players will be a bit disappointed - they sent me to Nyon with the instruction to bring Inter Milan back - but I believe they will also be happy to face Everton."

    BBC South Today sports presenter Tony Husband has been out and about with Bournemouth's Simon Francis today ahead of their League Cup quarter-final tie against Liverpool on Wednesday.

    Simon had a surprise for pupils at Corpus Christie School in Bournemouth when he brought in the trophy to show off.

    In 1982, England beat Luxembourg 9-0 in a European Championship qualifier, at the time a record score in the tournament.

    In 2008, Sachin Tendulkar hit an emotional 41st Test hundred as India recorded the fourth-highest chase in Test history to defeat England in Chennai, less than three weeks after the Mumbai attacks halted the tour.

    And, as recently as this day in 2013, Tottenham were beaten 5-0 by Liverpool in what proved to be Andre Villas-Boas' last match as Spurs manager.

    The FA confirm to BBC Sport that Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has accepted his FA charge and has asked for a "non-personal" hearing - ie. He doesn't attend in person and submits his evidence in writing.

    They also confirm that Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has accepted his charge for his Super Mario re-tweet and has asked for a non-personal hearing too.

    The FA Cup Third Round clash between Cardiff City and Colchester United has been moved to Friday 2 January and will be televised live on BBC Two Wales.

    The game at the Cardiff City Stadium will kick-off at 19:45 GMT.

    Russell Slade's Cardiff sit 11th in the Championship while Colchester United will be hoping a cup run can inspire some better league form as they are currently second-bottom of League One.

    Away from the European draws, ex-Liverpool and Bournemouth midfielder Jimmy Case has said the Premier League side are "there for the taking" ahead of Wednesday's League Cup quarter-final between the two at Dean Court.

    Liverpool were beaten 3-0 by Manchester United on Sunday in the same week they exited the Champions League.

    The Cherries, meanwhile, are currently top of the Championship.

    "If I was a Bournemouth fan I would be rubbing my hands," Case told BBC Radio Solent's Sportshour show on Friday. "Liverpool are there for the taking. I watch Liverpool every game. The lack of confidence within the side, the work ethic, there is a lot of work to do to get them back on track."

    "They couldn't get the results they desired and things are not going well for them. Hard games are ahead of us.

    "They are a team which try to strike fast and build up the game as quickly as possible.

    "Their technical capacity is high and they are physically strong. If we can snatch a good result in the first leg, it will be an advantage to be playing the second leg at home."
