Hull FC half-back Leon Pryce has a try-scoring record that would be the envy of any player, according to former Great Britain boss Brian Noble.

The 33-year-old's two tries in the Black and Whites' defeat by Leeds last week took his career tally to 200.

"It is unbelievable for any player of any era and any time," Noble told BBC's Super League Show.

"Two hundred tries, that is a fair achievement. I think I played about 900 games and scored about three."

  4. Falcao starts for Man Utd U21s

    Football

    Radamel Falcao

Manchester United have just announced their team for tonight's under-21 match against Tottenham and there is a very expensive name on the teamsheet.

Radamel Falcao, who was an unused substitute against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Monday night, will join James Wilson up front.

The Colombian earns a reported £260,000 a week and it is unclear if his loan deal will be extended at the end of the season.

  5. England welcome injured players back

    Rugby Union

England forwards coach Graham Rowntree has no qualms with putting Courtney Lawes straight back into the side for this Saturday's Six Nations match with Scotland.

The Northampton lock hasn't featured for England yet in the Championship because of an ankle problem, but is set to return to the starting XV at the expense of George Kruis or Dave Attwood.

"We work closely with his club and we've seen how much he's done in training," Rowntree told BBC 5 live. "These days you don't throw people in too early, so I'm quite happy and given his performances [for Northampton] I'm happy with how he is playing."

The Leicester second-row Geoff Parling is also set for a return to the match-day squad and Rowntree also confirmed Mike Brown and Luther Burrell are fit to play after completing training on Tuesday.

  6. FC Porto v FC Basel (Tuesday, 19:45 GMT)

    Football

FC Basel manager Paulo Sousa says his side have improved since their 1-1 first-leg draw with Porto as they grow into their game following a winter break in Switzerland.

The Swiss champions have only ever reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup once - in 1973-74.

"This feels amazing," says Sousa. "It's something really special to compete at this level and we are happy to be here, competing against the best - we are confident and positive. Any time we can relieve the pressure posed by Porto we can create difficulties. That might be when our goal appears."

Basel had played just two competitive matches in two months before the first leg.

    Football

BBC Sport will start a live text commentary on tonight's Champions League fixtures at 18:30 GMT.

The 18-year-old, whose sister Jen is a multiple Commonwealth medallist, also set a new British under-21 record at the event in the Netherlands.

"I'm really happy. But I'm slightly disappointed at the same time because I was so close to gold," said McIntosh.

"I'm sure the experience will help me for major competitions going forward."

Both McIntosh sisters represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

  12. Real Madrid v Schalke (Tuesday, 19:45 GMT)

  13. Real Madrid v Schalke (Tuesday, 19:45 GMT)

    Football

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says he will not change his team despite the below-par recent form of forwards Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo celebrate

"Without doubt I have confidence in them," says Ancelotti. "There has been a general dip from the team, not just them.

"I would have to drop Karim because he hasn't scored in a few games. I would have to drop Cristiano. I don't think Bale is happy with how he is playing but he understands that he has to improve."

Real lead Schalke 2-0 on aggregate ahead of their last-16 second-leg meeting.

  14. Chelsea v Paris St-Germain (Wednesday, 19:45 GMT)

    Football

    Gary Cahill and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Former Manchester City and Paris St-Germain playmaker Ali Benarbia is convinced the French champions will knock Chelsea out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

"I saw how Zlatan Ibrahimovic won all the duels against Gary Cahill and John Terry in the first game," says Benarbia. "I've seen other Chelsea matches and every time Cahill and Terry are stronger than all other strikers in physical duels - but Ibrahimovic won all the balls and the headers.

"Zlatan isn't the key man for PSG in every game but in this game at Stamford Bridge he will make himself the key man."

The 32-year rider, who has no major race wins in his 11-year career with the Ag2r-La Mondiale team, faces a disciplinary hearing, possibly heard by the governing body's new anti-doping tribunal.

The news comes less than two days after an independent report stated

  16. Kilty cherishes Linford influence

    Athletics

World and European indoor 60m champion Richard Kilty says the guidance of coach Linford Christie has given him the belief to perform in elite events.

Kilty added the European gold to his 2014 World title in Prague on Sunday and told BBC Tees that the former 100m Olympic champion had "definitely had a big impact on my confidence".

The 25-year-old continued: "He's a massive inspiration, gets me in physically great shape and it fills you with confidence having a man like Linford with his attitude, his confidence rubs off on you."

  17. Mullins hails greatest achievement

    Horse Racing

    Willie Mullins

Champion Hurdle winning trainer Willie Mullins says saddling the first three home in Tuesday's prestigious Cheltenham race is his biggest achievement in the sport.

The Irish trainer, who began his career in 1988, saw Faugheen, Arctic Fire and Hurricane Fly fill the places in the showpiece event on day one of the annual meeting.

"I imagine training the first three in the Champion Hurdle is my biggest achievement in training," says Mullins, 58.

"To get two or three horses there in the right condition is good for anyone and we had the luck in running."

    Football

Striker Ciftci has until Wednesday to respond to the complaint.

He is already suspended for Sunday's Scottish League Cup final between the clubs.

  19. Alonso hope as Magnussen prepares

    Formula 1

    Fernando Alonso and Kevin Magnussen

McLaren driver Fernando Alonso is desperate to be fit to race in the second World Championship meeting of the season in Malaysia on 27 March.

The Spaniard will miss the weekend's season opener in Australia after suffering injuries in a crash in testing, so Kevin Magnussen will take his seat.

"I would like to thank everybody for their kind wishes and support and I'll be giving everything to be back in the cockpit for Malaysia," says Alonso. "I wish Kevin all the best for this weekend in Australia, and I know the car is in his safe hands!"

Magnussen says: "Of course, we aren't expecting to win here, but my focus is on setting up the car for race conditions and pushing our progress forward."

A reminder that at 22:00 GMT this evening, you'll be able to tune in to a 2015 Formula 1 Season Preview, featuring Suzi Perry, David Coulthard et al, on the Red Button and the BBC Sport website.

  20. Yarnold pondering 2018 defence

    Skeleton

    Lizzy Yarnold

Olympic Skeleton Champion Lizzy Yarnold, says she is yet to decide if she will compete at the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea.

The 26-year-old took gold at Sochi 2014 and became world champion in Germany last week but after previously saying she will compete at the next Winter Games, now says she must consider some rest.

"I would love to go to the Winter Games and defend my title," says Yarnold. "No-one has ever defended their gold medal and it would be an amazing achievement.

"It is a goal of mine. But I need to give myself enough rest and then I can come back stronger. I'll have two seasons of trying different things, different techniques and technology. The Olympic season is when we get really serious."

  21. Warburton's honour

    Rugby Union

Wales head coach Warren Gatland named an unchanged side for his sides' meeting with Ireland in Saturday, including Sam Warburton who will captain his country for a record 34th time.

"Saturday is a fantastic achievement and honour for Sam," says head coach Warren Gatland.

"He has developed into the role fantastically and is a modern day professional. He is a role model that will continue to get better."

    Sam Warburton
  22. Meyler feels the Power

    Horse Racing

Twitter has been awash with footballers discussing the Cheltenham Festival and Hull City's David Meyler is the latest to declare his frustration with Annie Power:

    David Meyler Twitter

Annie Power fell at the last and would have completed four wins from four for the trainer-jockey combination of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.

  23. Bath captain extends contract

    Rugby Union

    Stuart Hooper

Lock Stuart Hooper has extended his stay with Aviva Premiership play-off contenders Bath into next season.

Current club captain Hooper, 33, joined Bath in 2008 and has made more than 170 first team appearances.

The club's head coach Mike Ford describes Hooper as "the best captain I've ever worked with."

  24. Power falls at last as Melody wins

    Horse Racing

Ruby Walsh falls from Annie Power

    What drama at Cheltenham.

Annie Power has it won... the fourth win of the day for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh but no... at the final fence, when a few lengths clear, the favourite falls.

Bookmakers all over the country rejoice, they escape a major sting and Glens Melody goes on to take it.

Cheltenham history beckoned there for Walsh and Mullins but the trainer can draw some comfort as Glens Melody is another of his horses. Ruby Walsh runs up the course to find his fallen mount.

Some say a Walsh-Mullins quadruple would have cost bookies an estimated £100m. It is still a horrid day for them but just not quite as horrid.

  25. The 'Fab Four' to hurt bookies

    Horse Racing

    A bookmaker pays out money

Horses are out on the course for the Mares' Hurdle and an Annie Power win will complete a 'Fab Four' for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh on day one. Let me just draw your attention to this paragraph in BBC Sport's Frank Keogh's Champion Hurdle report:

"Some firms claimed there could be a £100m payout industry-wide if the four favourites all came in, with punters backing the Walsh-Mullins combination in accumulators."

    Ouch.

  26. Bowyer dismisses Rhodes exit talk

    Football

    Jordan Rhodes

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has dismissed suggestions that striker Jordan Rhodes could leave.

The 25-year-old Scotland international has been linked with a loan move to Championship rivals Derby and Norwich after he did not start in the 0-0 FA Cup quarter-final draw at Liverpool.

"It's simple. We've got 11 league games left and a cup quarter final with a potential visit to Wembley," Bowyer told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"Why we would want to be letting any of our players go a this stage is beyond me."

  27. Here comes the banker

    Horse Racing

Worryingly for bookmakers, Willie Mullins's son Patrick has just told BBC Radio 5 live that Annie Power was their "banker" before the day began.

The seven-year-old will be under the ride of Ruby Walsh in the next race at 16:00 GMT.

  28. The 1-2-3

    Horse Racing

    Cornelius Lysaght

BBC horse racing correspondent at the Cheltenham Festival

"To have three runners is pretty amazing. To have the first second and third when you have three in the race, in this era, when it is so theoretically competitive, is an astonishing achievement. Someone just asked me is it so good that Willie Mullins is so dominant?

"I guess it's one for a discussion on the weekend. If it were someone people didn't like it may be different but people like Willie Mullins, he's not arrogant and he has been walking around today in a cool, calm state."

  29. Moyes spots a talent

    Football

    Geronimo Rulli

Spanish football writer Andy West tweets: The Moyes effect: Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, promoted into first team by David Moyes, has been named in senior Argentina squad.

Rulli, 22, has played 14 times for Sociedad this season.

  30. Mullins-Walsh magic

    Horse Racing

    Ruby Walsh

That makes it three wins on the day for the trainer-jockey combination of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh, a ninth win from nine races for Faugheen and if you think their assault on day one of Cheltenham is over, you are very much mistaken. They have the much fancied Annie Power to come. The 'Fab Four' dream lives on.

Jockey Andrew Thornton speaks to BBC Radio 5 live about Walsh: "It's a complete team effort. He knows he has to deliver but you can see the confidence he is riding the horses with, it transmits through the hands into the horse."

  31. Black Cats unconcerned by drop fear

    Football

    Connor Wickham

Sunderland's players have not considered the prospect of relegation from the Premier League this season, according to striker Connor Wickham.

They have won one of the past 11 league games and are only four points above the drop zone with 10 games to play.

"None of the lads are thinking about getting dragged into the same battle as last year," Wickham told BBC Newcastle.

"We've got the players in the dressing room, the mentality and the manager and staff to push us on. We should be better than being in that relegation battle."

  32. Faugheen wins Champion Hurdle

    Horse Racing

Trainer Willie Mullins has now notched three wins from three races on day one of the Cheltenham Festival.

All trhee have started favourites, meaning bookmakers have had a tough afternoon to say the least.

"Ruby (Walsh) said he was going to win it and make the running," Mullins tells BBC Radio 5 live. "He rode a great race from the front, settled the pace, kicked when he wanted and put it to bed."

  33. Post update

    Frank Keogh

    BBC Sport at Cheltenham

On Twitter: "Faugheen. Machine. Ruby Tuesday. Bookies bashed.

"Full house in the Cheltenham bingo

"I've never heard a noise like it."

  34. BreakingBREAKING NEWS

    Horse Racing

    Faugheen

Faugheen justifies favouritism to win the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival as Ruby Walsh makes it three wins from three rides today.

It is an incredible 1-2-3 finish for trainer Willie Mullins, as Arctic Fire and Hurricane Fly make up the places.

Champion Hurdle result: 1 Faugheen (4-5 fav); 2 Arctic Fire (20-1); 3 Hurricane Fly (8-1)

  35. Champion Hurdle

    Horse Racing

Hurricane Fly is one of the Irish threats in the Champion Hurdle and has won this prestigious race before.

Paul Townend is in the saddle for a horse which has brought the Cheltenham house down in the past but surely a win in the opening day feature for AP McCoy will lift decibel levels like nothing else. The champ is aboard Jezki.

  36. The big one awaits...

    Horse Racing

The horses are parading at Cheltenham ahead of the feature race of day one - the Champion Hurdle.

The trainer-jockey combination of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh delivered wins in the opening two races of the day and they saddle the favourite here - Faugheen.

The seven-year-old won the Novices' Hurdle here a year ago and has claimed victories in his three starts since.

  37. Contador extends contract

    Cycling

    Alberto Contador

Spain's Alberto Contador has extended his contract with Tinkoff-Saxo and will ride for one more year before retiring, the team says.

Contador won the Tour de France in 2007 and 2009, but was stripped of the 2010 title after testing positive for clenbuterol.

He has previously said he will retire at the end of 2016.

  38. Sousa talks down Monk success

    Football

Former Swansea manager Paulo Sousa has responded to criticism from current boss Garry Monk by stating any success at the club owes to the board and not whoever is in charge of the team.

In his autobiography, Monk described a season under Sousa as a "wasted" one, before the Portuguese - now Basel manager - left in 2010 to join Leicester City.

"Look, he's a person I want to succeed, like everyone. But unfortunately he said things about me and I don't appreciate people talking about somebody when they don't have the courage to say it up front," Sousa tells the Daily Mail.

"He is well integrated in the club, but the key for success at Swansea is the leadership of (Huw) Jenkins and the support of the board members, not one manager."

  39. First British winner at Cheltenham Festival

    Horse Racing

Barry Geraghty lands a 32nd winner at the Cheltenham Festival aboard the The Druids Nephew, a first win at Cheltenham in the training career of Neil Mullholland.

It is also the first British winner of the week.

The big race of the day comes next, the Champion Hurdle.

    Grade 3 Handicap chase: 1 The Druids Nephew (8-1); 2 Grand Jesture (25-1); 3 Gallant Oscar (9-1); 4 Indian Castle (9-1).

  40. Ujah makes amends...with carrots

    Football

Now then, you may remember that yesterday on Sportsday, we brought you the story of Hennes the goat - the official mascot of Bundesliga team FC Cologne. Hennes hit the headlines at the weekend after being grabbed by the overzealous striker Anthony Ujah to be an unwilling participant in one of his goal celebrations. Ujah later apologised for the rough treatment.

Anthony Ujah (right) and Hennes VIII the goat

Now, the contrite Nigerian international has taken his apology one step further. Today happens to be Hennes's birthday, and Ujah has been to visit him to smooth things over with a bunch of carrots. Isn't that nice?

  41. Saracens to sign South African forward

    Rugby Union

Saracens have agreed the signing of South African back-row forward Michael Rhodes from Super 15 side Stormers.

The 27-year-old, who can play at flanker or lock, will join Sarries at the beginning of next season.

"Michael was one of the stand-out performers for the Stormers and Western Province last year," said Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall.

  42. Herrera not Van Gaal's signing - Carragher

    Football

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has tweeted his sympathy for Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, who he believes was not signed by Louis van Gaal.

Herrera, formerly of Athletic Bilbao, was a target for former United boss David Moyes but moved to Old Trafford five weeks after Van Gaal was named manager.

Following United's 2-1 FA Cup defeat by Arsenal Carragher tweeted: "Feel for Herrera not set the world a light but definitely a club signing rather than a Van Gaal one."

  43. Get Involved

Today, we're asking you if coaches like Peter Moores and Louis van Gaal should pay the price for not challenging for trophies, or be given time to get things right. Here are a few of your thoughts...

Aamir Mir: Time is key if (re)building a team on a tight budget. However, clubs that invest heavily need an immediate return.

Arasa: You can't perform if you aren't given enough time. LVG will achieve something Moyes couldn't, Europa League. Credit to him.

Paul Cummings: Managers should be given 2 seasons. First to instil philosophy, then sacked or not depending on success of second season.

  47. Guardiola aware of failure

    Football

    Pep Guardiola

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola says he is fully aware of the bleak response failure to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League will provide.

The German champions drew their first-leg meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 in Ukraine, with the return set for Wednesday.

"I know what will happen if we do not make it to the next round of the Champions League. Bayern is a big club," Guardiola tells reporters. "I am a young coach but I know what to expect. "I know in what kind of situation we are in. I know it will be a major problem if we do not reach the quarter-finals."

"It gave the Festival's all-time leading jockey his 42nd winner at the meeting and retains the prospect of a 'Fab Four' of winning favourites for Walsh and trainer Willie Mullins - with Un De Sceaux, Faugheen and Annie Power to come."

  49. Blues 'unaffected' by BIHL changes

    Football

Two people, including former Blues chairman Peter Pannu, have been removed from the board of Birmingham International Holdings, while seven others have resigned and two have been suspended.

BIHL has been in receivership since last month but a club statement said: "Ernst & Young...stated last month after its appointment that it is 'business as usual' at St. Andrew's. The club can assure supporters and staff that this still very much the case."

  50. Button sees progress

The team's commitment to development and improvement, both in Woking and in Japan, is astonishing, and despite some tricky days in testing, we are seeing definitive progress."

  58. Cookson fearful of youth doping

    Cycling

The head of world cycling Brian Cookson admits he is alarmed by the prospect of doping within the youth ranks of the sport, as outlined by a Cycling Independent Reform Commission report.

Youth cycling was described as being "particularly vulnerable" to the practice and UCI president Cookson said the prospect causes him "real concern."

"Now frankly if people are supplying youth riders with doping products and procedures that's nothing short of child abuse," says Cookson. "People should be ashamed of themselves and they should be subject to criminal proceedings; that's a disgrace if that's happening and I want to look into that with a bit more seriousness."

  60. England face key learning curve - Robinson

    Rugby Union

World Cup winner Jason Robinson believes England's current crop of players are "open to criticism" after their Six Nations defeat to Ireland.

Stuart Lancaster's side lost 19-9 to the tournament leaders in their last outing and face Scotland on Saturday.

"England still have quite a bit of work to do," Robinson tells BBC World Service. "We saw them play against Ireland and we all knew what was coming. We knew the game they have, the kicks Sexton would use, and we didn't pressurise it.

"Part of me would say that England are not that far off, but you can't just look towards the World Cup. This Six Nations is still a learning curve for England. We always expect them to be there all the time and when they're not, they're open for criticism."

Today we have been reacting to news of Ian Holloway's sacking, Peter Moores under pressure and questions asked of Louis van Gaal by asking you if managers should be given more time or do bad results require swift action?

JackDixon29: I think all managers and coaches should be given two terms. You can't replace legends in a season. It's not feasible or possible.

VisionEconomic1: Van Gaal is bluffing, if he stays longer Giggs will leave and then the ties will be cut. Keep it in the family.

Kawwan: If you give Van Gaal time he will make something brilliant again of Manchester United.

Drew Cairney: Yes of course. How can u get any consistency or progress if you keep sacking the managers. Sometimes u need to look at the players.

  70. Milner on the move?

    Football

    James Milner

Alistair Magowan reports: "Following newspaper reports that Manchester City midfielder James Milner is interested in a move abroad, my understanding is that talks were held with Spanish and Italian clubs a number of weeks ago and nothing will be decided before the end of the season when the 29-year-old's contract runs out.

"Both the midfielder and the Premier League champions are understood to be happy to wait until then and in an ideal world Milner would like to sign another contract with City.

"But that will largely depend on how central he is to the manager's future plans and the period between now and the end of the season could serve as a gauge to find out where Milner really stands."

Johnny: Peter Moores or whoever coaches England cricket team is on a hiding to nothing. Players need to step up or ship out.

Charlie Cook: Miracles do not happen overnight, time is a healer and patience is virtue!

Douglas Suai: Just sack LVG. Appoint a manager from Great Britain (like Sir Alex Ferguson) with low profile, character and give him time and of course money.

Di Maria received two quick-fire bookings in FA Cup defeat to Arsenal on Monday, the second for pulling the shirt of referee Michael Oliver.

Asked if Di Maria showed such a temper in Spain Calderon says: "No he wasn't like that, I was really surprised to know what he did.

"He was a really good player with good behaviour here, never anything like this. Maybe he's a bit nervous because up to now his change (to Manchester United) hasn't been the right one.

  90. Man Utd's two years of failure

    Football

These are testing times at Old Trafford. Excluding the Community Shield, the last time Manchester United went two seasons without winning anything was 1987-89 both under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

    Danny Welbeck

In his latest blog, BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty writes: "The sight of Danny Welbeck, the striker Van Gaal let go, striking the decisive blow to send Arsenal into the FA Cup semi-finals while Radamel Falcao was not even summoned from the bench as United's saviour, was heavy in symbolism.

"Van Gaal's cold explanation of Welbeck's sale to Arsenal for £16m on transfer deadline day in September was that 'he was more a substitute than a line-up player'.

"On a night that further stalled United's progress under the Dutchman, it was the celebrated Falcao who was the substitute while Welbeck was not merely a line-up player but also Arsenal's match-winner."

More now on that sad story we brought you earlier this morning. Three French sports stars have been killed in a helicopter crash in Argentina, including Olympic swimming champion Camille Muffat.

British Swimming Chief Executive David Sparkes said in a statement: "This is such sad news. Camille was a great swimmer who achieved so much and she will be missed by everyone in the swimming world. I have today sent our deepest condolences to the French Swimming President and Camille's family."

  93. Mancini wants Yaya reunion

    Football

    Yaya Toure and Roberto Mancini

Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is interested in taking Manchester City's Yaya Toure to the San Siro if the Italian club can make a deal within financial fair play rules.

Mancini, who managed Toure at Manchester City, returned for a second spell at Inter in November of 2014.

"It's a question mark, we'll have to see what financial fair play brings," he told Gazzetta TV in an interview. "I'm sure we'll do some good business. Yaya Toure? He's played in almost every league, except for Germany and Italy.

"If, as seems to be the case, he wants to try Serie A we'll look into the possibility, but it won't be easy. He's a player with incredible technical ability. I've not come across many like him."

  94. Get Involved

    Should coaches be given time?

Right then, time to introduce our Get Involved topic for this morning.

What with Peter Moores's future as England cricket coach in doubt and Louis Van Gaal very much under the spotlight at Manchester United, we're asking whether coaches should be given time to develop a team, even if they fail at the first hurdle.

Roy Keane says Van Gaal must be given "two or three years" at Old Trafford, even though his first season looks destined to end trophy-less. But Jonathan Agnew believes that Moores should be replaced as ODI coach.

So should patience win out, or is it a case of 'the sooner the better' when it comes to underperforming coaches? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter at #bbcsportsday, or via the BBC Sport Facebook page.

  95. Holloway sacked by Millwall

    Football

More on that managerial departure. Holloway took over as Millwall boss in January 2014, and led the club to safety last season, finishing 19th.

This season though has seen the club slip into the relegation places, and Millwall had lost five of their last six matches.

Millwall chairman Berylson added in his statement: "This was a hard decision to take because we very much hoped that Ollie would prove to be the man to take us forward and on to the next level. I would like to thank him for his efforts, and in particular for keeping us in the Championship last May."

  100. Di Maria has 'no excuses'

    Back pages

Let's have our customary round-up of this morning's back pages, beginning with the Mirror.

They lead on Arsenal's FA Cup win over Manchester United, with Danny Welbeck and red-card villain Angel di Maria getting equal top billing.

The paper quotes United manager Louis van Gaal as saying: "I think he's touched the referee and that's forbidden in every country, so he has no excuses."

There's also a mention of Ian Botham's verdict on the England cricket team following their elimination from the World Cup. as you can see, it's fair to say Beefy doesn't pull any punches.

  102. India beat Ireland at World Cup

    Cricket

    Shikhar Dhawan

Now then, news of a breaking Cricket World Cup result to bring you. I'm afraid it's bad news for Ireland, who have fallen to a perhaps expected defeat against unbeaten India.

Ireland put up a decent score of 259, with Niall O'Brien hitting 75, but India chased down the target with ease, as Shikhar Dhawan cracked his second century of the tournament.

Ireland would have qualified for the knockout stages had they managed to pull off an upset - instead it looks like their quarter-final dreams will hinge on the result of their final game against Pakistan.

  103. Van Gaal must get time - Keane

    Football

    Roy Keane

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane says manager Louis Van Gaal must be given "two or three years" to rebuild the club, following the FA Cup defeat by Arsenal.

Keane said on BBC Match of the Day: "They should have given David Moyes more time but didn't. What are they going to do? Chop and change again? Van Gaal has been in the door two minutes. It takes time. It's literally a rebuilding job.

"It would be a disaster [if United don't finish in top four]. The big problem with people at the club and ex-players is they keep looking back comparing teams from 10 years ago. They have got to look forward. Focus on the players, focus on the manager... get right behind him. I still think they have enough to get in that top four."

Don't worry Manchester United fans, we'll be giving you your chance to weigh in on that topic in due course!

  104. French sports stars killed in helicopter crash

Let's remember those French sports stars who tragically lost their lives in more detail.

Alexis Vastine, 28, won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the light-welterweight category. He was narrowly beaten in the quarter-finals of the 2012 Games.

Florence Arthaud, 57, was a hugely accomplished sailor, winning the 1990 Route du Rhum, the prestigious solo Atlantic race. A serious car accident put her in a coma when she was 17.
