    The Eagles are flying high, not just in the Premeir League, but on their balance sheets too...

    Crystal Palace made a pre-tax profit of £23m and enjoyed a record turnover in their first season back in the Premier League.

    The club were promoted from the Championship in 2013, when they made only £3.5m profit on a £14.5m turnover.

    Financial results for the year ending June 2014 show turnover rose to £90.4m.

    "The improved profit stemmed mainly from increased broadcasting income, combined with prudent financial planning," chairman Steve Parish said.

    Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says his players are primed for the Championship run-in as they attempt to seal promotion to the Premier League.

    The Cherries top the Championship as they try to make it into English football's top flight for the first time in their history.

    Howe took his squad to Dubai during the international break as the season draws to a thrilling conclusion.

    "We've enjoyed our break," Howe told BBC South Today.

    Tour de France winner Sir Bradley Wiggins claimed his first win of the season by winning the time trial Three Days of De Panne in Belgium.

    In his final time trial for Team Sky, the 34-year-old finished 10 seconds faster than BMC Racing's Stefan Kung over the 14.2km course.

    Talking of Manchester United, Dutchmen Raymond van Barneveld and Michael van Gerwen took time out to visit Old Trafford this afternoon, ahead of the darts in the city.

    Five players are battling to avoid elimination from the Premier League this evening in Manchester.

    The bottom two men in the group stage after tonight's fixtures will exit the competition.

    Defending champion van Barneveld is one of the players in danger, but a win against world champion Gary Anderson will be enough to see him through.

    Adrian Lewis, Stephen Bunting, Peter Wright and Kim Huybrechts could also go out of the tournament this evening.

    McCullum, 33, led New Zealand to the recent World Cup final and will play seven games in this summer's T20 Blast.

    "With AB de Villiers, he's in the top two players in the world in Twenty20 at the moment," Brown told BBC WM 95.6.

    "Everybody talks about Ian Botham at Somerset and McCullum is in exactly the same vain, he's extremely exciting."

    Leicester City have recalled England Under-21 defender Liam Moore from his loan spell at Brentford.

    In February, 22-year-old Moore had agreed to stay with the Championship club until the end of the season.

    The Court of Arbitration in Sport upheld an appeal from Morocco to lift their ban from international football imposed on them by the Confederation of African football (CAF) after they pulled out of hosting the 2015 Cup of Nations.

    The ruling should allow Morocco to compete in the next two tournaments in 2017 and 2019. They were fined 8m euros (£5.87m) at the time - this has been reduced to $50,000 (£33,742)
