This season alone there has been 630 football related incidents including criminal damage, violence and abusive behaviour.

Daniel Rose: Most painful semi-final was 1996 at Villa Park - Chelsea 1-2 Man Utd. All going well until a bizarre/awful Craig Burley back-pass ruined my 18th birthday. At least it all went right the following year.

Joe Robinson: My favourite semi-final moment was that physics-defying David Seaman save against Sheffield United in 2003.

Anife Faria: Tim Cahill's header sending Millwall to the final and making Del Boy's dream true and a huge knees up on the Old Kent Road!

You can watch Cahill's 2009 winner against Sunderland right here. His celebration is Giggs-like.

Top story: Premier League clubs and players have received more than 130,000 abusive posts on social media this season - with Chelsea and Mario Balotelli targeted most.

Top feature: Former world snooker champion Shaun Murphy says he is 'a better person' than when he won the title aged 22 in 2005.

  5. Wigan not thinking about Rotherham sanctionpublished at 10:59 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

Wigan manager Gary Caldwell says the Championship strugglers are not thinking about the possibility of relegation rivals Rotherham being deducted points.

The Latics, who are eight points adrift of fourth-bottom Rotherham, need to win their three remaining games to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

But Rotherham could potentially be docked three points after fielding an ineligible player.

"Whatever happens happens, we have to focus on winning Saturday and winning every game because of the position we find ourselves in. What we can't control doesn't really interest us," says Caldwell.

  6. Kane delighted with double PFA nominationpublished at 10:52 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

    Harry KaneImage source, PA

Harry Kane must pinch himself every time he thinks about his remarkable breakthrough season. And the Tottenham striker's dream campaign got even better when he was named on the shortlist for both the PFA Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year gongs.

"I'm delighted to be nominated for both awards, to have that appreciation from fellow players is a huge honour and it shows you are doing the right things," the 21-year-old, who has scored 29 goals this season, tells Tottenham's official website.

"It's been a hectic, crazy season with a lot of highs and this is another special moment."

If you've been on Twitter this morning, you may have noticed the hashtag #Footballshirtfriday is trending.

This is a campaign run by the Bobby Moore Fund, aimed at raising awareness of bowel cancer - the disease which took the life of the World Cup-winning England captain in 1993.

If you're a fan of dodgy old kits from football yesteryear, it's worth a look at all the pictures. Crystal Palace defender Peter Ramage models his Italia 90 shirt well, doesn't he?

  8. Platini and Blatter disagree over World Cup spotspublished at 10:39 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

    PlatiniImage source, AP

Uefa president Michel Platini hits back at Fifa supremo Sepp Blatter in a row over World Cup places.

Blatter told football executives from North and Central America and the Caribbean yesterday their confederation "should" be awarded another World Cup place for the 2018 tournament in Russia given their success in Brazil last summer.

"If Blatter wants to give one more slot to a confederation that reaches one time the quarter-final, what will he give to us, who have [the last] three world champions?" says Platini.

Of course, the "one time" that Platini is talking about is Costa Rica's march to the last eight last summer in Brazil.

  9. Selby aims to 'break the curse'published at 10:34 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

Mark Selby is hoping to become the first winner to successfully defend his title and end what he calls the World Championship "curse".

Selby, aka the The Jester from Leicester, beat defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan 18-14 to win his first World title last year.

BBC Sport will bring you live coverage of the 2015 Snooker World Championship from Saturday, 18 April across BBC TV, Red Button, connected TVs, online, tablets and smartphones.

  11. McCoy's ride out of Scottish Nationalpublished at 10:23 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

AP McCoy's intended Scottish Grand National mount Benvolio has been declared a non-runner for Saturday's feature race.

The 19-times champion jockey was due to partner the eight-year-old in what would have been his final ride in the Ayr contest before he retires later this month.

But trainer Paul Nicholls has taken Benvolio out because of the going.

  12. I never doubted I would score - Pellepublished at 10:20 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

    Graziano PelleImage source, Getty Images

Southampton striker Graziano Pelle says he never doubted his touch in front of goal would return, after scoring for the first time in 15 league games.

The Italian's goal in Saints' 2-0 victory over Hull was his first since he scored against Everton in December.

"In the last nine games where I haven't scored I have hit the post maybe eight times," Pelle, 29, said.

"It helped me understand I was still getting chances and to always believe and have faith in what I was doing."

We're asking you to send in your favourite FA Cup semi-final memories to us this morning, via the hashtag #bbcsportsday or on our Match of the Day Facebook page.

    Here's some of your throwbacks:

Chris Salmon: 60 years since York City made it to the FA Cup semi-final, and boy did we give Newcastle a fright

Brenny Rodgers: It has to be Gazza's free-kick. Gary Lineker shaking his head intimating he couldn't score from that far out, how wrong he was.

Charlie Conlan: Marlon Harewood's winner at Villa Park, 2006.

Charlie even included a heart emoticon in his tweet. That's how much he loved Harewood's goal for West Ham against Middlesbrough.

  14. 'The abuse comes direct to you'published at 10:02 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

    Jason BrownImage source, Getty Images

Former Wales and Gillingham goalkeeper Jason Brown has been speaking about his experiences of racial abuse on Victoria Derbyshire's news and current affairs show on BBC Two this morning.

It comes after a study by anti-discrimination group Kick It Out said Premier League clubs and players have received more than 130,000 abusive posts on social media this season.

Brown told the programme: "I had one where a supporter threatened my life. At Aberdeen, one of my own supporters racially abused me.

"People say they don't throw bananas at you or anything now, but they can come direct to you. Direct to your inbox."

You can watch Victoria Derbyshire's news and current affairs show on BBC Two, the BBC News Channel and online daily from 09:15 BST.

  15. Sam Allardyce news conferencepublished at 09:55 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

West Ham fans started checking their passport expiry dates earlier this season - as their team hurtled towards European qualification.

But their recent slump means the travel documents will now only be coming out for a summer break to Marbella. And it has left Hammers boss Sam Allardyce targeting the club's highest Premier League finish since returning to the top-flight in 2012.

"We want to hit the 50 point mark or better. That will ensure we finish higher in the Premier League than we have done since promotion," says Allardyce.

  16. Sam Allardyce news conferencepublished at 09:49 British Summer Time 17 April 2015

Manchester City have been pilloried in recent weeks - with manager Manuel Pellegrini coming under increasing scrutiny - after the title holders slumped to fourth in the Premier League table.

Who saw City's decline coming? Not many. And certainly not Sam Allardyce.

"I'm very surprised that Man City have lost four away games on the trot, based on the huge amount of talent they have but like ourselves they can't find a way to win at the moment," says the West Ham boss, whose team have won just once in 11 matches.

West Ham have netted just three goals in their last five matches - and now they face a trip to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City without their two leading scorers.

Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho are both out injured, leaving Carlton Cole and Enner Valencia as Sam Allardyce's firepower.

"It leaves us short in goalscoring options because Andy and Sakho are our two leading scorers this season. I'm expecting Carlton will come in and play a big role," says Big Sam.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says it is a "privilege" to be the manager of the Championship table-toppers.

The Cherries hold a one-point advantage with three games to go and are on the verge of sealing top-flight status for the first time in their history.

"Our dressing room is always a special place to be," 37-year-old Howe tells BBC Radio Solent.

"I think we have a unique atmosphere and I feel privileged to be in there leading the team."
