Andy Murray said it was "tough" to see his run of 18 successive Grand Slam quarter-finals end with defeat by South Africa's Kevin Anderson at the US Open.

    The 14th seed won their fourth-round match 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 7-6 (7-0) in four hours and 18 minutes.

It is the first time since 2010 that Murray has not reached at least the last eight at a Grand Slam.

"Many years' work have gone into building that sort of consistency. To lose that is tough," said the British number one.

Wayne Rooney reckons Jagielka hasn't stopped banging on about it since.

A vote has just opened on the Sportsday page and we're asking you tell us how many of the Home Nations you think will qualify for Euro 2016.

Just England, or will Northern Ireland and Wales get the results they need. And will one of the Republic and Scotland make it as well?

Vote now if you would, we want to know what you think.

Your turn to get in on the action.

You've seen this story we assume? Luxembourg have had a slightly unfortunate build-up to their Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus ... 16 players coming down with "stomach ache" (let's cut to the chase, that means acute diarrhea) after eating a dodgy spaghetti bolognaise at the team hotel.

So we want to know this... What sporting mishap have you or your team had?

For instance the mini-bus transporting my junior team to a seven-a-side competition in Anglesey got lost and we ended up - don't ask - in Cheltenham.
