Irish Paralympic star Michael McKillop clinched his sixth IPC Athletics World Championship gold medal after defending his T37 1500m title in Doha.

The 25-year-old from Glengormley, on the outskirts of Belfast, has a mild form of cerebral palsy.

The T38 800m champion stayed on the shoulder of Australia's Brad Scott before making a move with 600m to go.

"That race was controlled and timed to perfection," the three-time Paralympic champion told BBC Sport.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has hit back at his critics after coming under pressure for the club's disappointing European form.

The Hoops failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage and were defeated 3-1 against Molde in the Europa League on 22 October.

Former Scotland and Aberdeen defender Alex McLeish, who won the treble as Rangers boss in 2003, was quoted as saying, "even if you win domestically just now it might not be enough," while former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner said: "I don't think that Celtic are getting better in Europe."

"Where are the other Scottish teams? I don't know. I haven't seen them in Europe," said Deila. "The national team is not in Europe either - they aren't going to the Euros."

    'Dangerous Rooney'published at 15:24

Crystal Palace v Man Utd (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Wayne RooneyImage source, Getty Images

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew says Wayne Rooney's frustration makes him "dangerous". Manchester United and England forward Rooney has scored just two Premier League goals this season and missed a penalty as his club were eliminated from the League Cup at home to Middlesbrough in midweek.

"He is at the top of the pitch now and maybe he is not getting the service he would probably want in that," said Pardew ahead of United's visit to Palace on Saturday.

"I can see a little bit of frustration in him but that makes him dangerous. Rooney has proved many times, particularly when he gets criticism, that he can deliver."

Swansea manager GarryMonk will remind his players of their good recent record against Arsenal before their Liberty Stadium visit.

"They are always very tough games against Arsenal but we've managed to get some decent results against them home and away,"

Monk has not lost any of his previous three meetings with Arsene Wenger, Swansea claiming a 2-2 draw at the Emirates in March 2014 before doing the double over Arsenal last season for only the second time in their history.

Wenger criticised Monk's approach after Swansea's "smash-and-grab success" in north London in May when Bafetimbi Gomis scored an 85th-minute winner, the Arsenal manager complaining the Welsh club "refused to play completely and just defended."
